Leadership has always been a huge part of my life, and it has taught me so much about myself. From Sophomore/Junior/Senior Class President, to being a peer leader for struggling students, I have learned how to positively influence others, work as a team, and meet deadlines and expectations. My passion is definitely leadership, and I enjoy being able to influence and sometimes even improve someone’s life. I have learned how to learn from my mistakes, enjoy leadership, and also use my skills to always benefit others.

Teamwork is essential to getting work done. Whether it was on an actual team, like field hockey or swimming, or simply working with a group of people to get something done, I have learned a lot from being involved in teams. Working well with others is a skill that is essential in life,

and I have slowly practiced dealing with all sorts of different people throughout my time on teams.

I love diversity, and I take great pride in having such a diverse family. I am Hispanic and Native American, whereas my parents are British. I have grown up in a multi-cultural, diverse home, and it has allowed me to love all kinds of different people and

cultures. When choosing a college, I definitely gravitated toward Baylor because of the diverse student population here.

Because of my multi-cultural family, I have traveled all over the world, and been immersed in all sorts of different customs and

cultures. I go to England quite frequently, and I love being able to experience such a different world than here in the U.S. I have been to many Latin American countries, such as Costa Rica, and I enjoy being able to hear and learn new languages and rituals. I believe it

is extremely important to be immersed in new cultures, and to accept other people’s beliefs even if they aren't the same as yours.

Family is the most important aspect in my

life. Especially now that I am so far away from

home, I realize how much I miss them. My family has taught me how to

stand up for myself, love, forgive, and be respectful of others. My family has

showed me unconditional love, introduced me to Jesus, and they are my #1 support system, no matter what mistakes I make. I would not even be close to the person I am today without the

guidance and love of my family.
