At the end of the war, Helena and Johannes put their lives at risk and suffer tremendous hardship to fight their way back to each other, guided by a will to survive so strong that it bypasses the expectations of morality.THE MIDWIFE is based on the the best-selling novel by Katja Kettu.

Matteo is fifteen, a fragile boy. He runs into the woods carrying his baby brother. It‘s a desperate attempt to strike back at his oppressive father. The parents’ punishment for kidnapping the baby: three months of hard work on a remote farm. On arrival, three hostile teenagers grab Matteo and lock him into a dog cage. The farmer, who was supposed to take care of the kids, has lost control. Anton, an unpredictably aggressive boy, is now in charge. He has given shelter to two other troubled, angry teenagers: Dion, a boy from Serbia, and Ali, a girl with a shaved head. Matteo is their dog. He earns their respect only when he starts to stand up against them. He joins them on a mission: they drive down to the city. A feverish night full of violence and destruction. Their own war. Their own revenge against grown-ups. Against everything. Matteo gets stronger, learns to fight and falls in love with Ali. He’s finally part of the pack. After a training session, Herbert suddenly collapses with spasms of pain; however, he initially chooses to ignore the signs. With not much time left, Herbert struggles with himself and the hard outer shell he‘s cultivated over time. One winter’s night a girl freezes to death after suffering brutal injuries. Jack is convicted of her murder. When released from prison 15 years later, he becomes an acclaimed writer and well-known ladies’ man, and Vienna’s society celebrates his example of successful social rehabilitation. But questions arise when more and more prostitutes are being found dead. Can a man change that fundamentally?
From murderer of a woman to ladykiller, from jailbird poet to society darling – Jack Unterweger was the talk of the town in early 1990s’ Vienna. His suicide following the conviction for multiple murder left many questions unanswered, and 20 years later, his story has not lost any of its mystery. Focusing on the enigmatic title character, Elisabeth Scharang (IN ANOTHER LIFETIME) presents a breath-taking and haunting psychograph.

Everyone loves Zeki Müller (Elyas M’Barek) at the Goethe Comprehensive School, but he’s beginning to lose enthusiasm for his accidental vocation: waking up early, delinquent students and endless pa-perwork. And now, overly-ambitious Principal Gerster (Katja Riemann) has set her sights on stealing the Thailand school partnership away from the elite Schiller School. Her dream: to boost the image of her derelict school in order to become the model for the Ministry of Education’s new public campaign. Müller and Schnabelstedt (Karoline Herfurth) are condemned to accompany the class on a trip to a remote Thai village.
Chantal (Jella Haase), Zeynep (Gizem Emre), Danger (Max von der Groeben) & Co. are in prime form during their first trip abroad, rampantly displaying their full spectrum of social incompetence and cul-tural ignorance. And if that wasn’t enough already for Zeki, to have to deal with the constant teachers vs. students war, he also has to lead the charge against the snobby Schiller School and their pompous über-Teacher, Hauke Wölki (Volker Bruch) - whose sole goal is to end Müller’s career!
DIRECTOR
Bora Dagtekin’s first comedy as a writer, WHERE IS FRED, hit the big screen in 2006. SUCK ME SHAKESPEER, Dagtekin’s second feature as writer/director, became one of the top ten grossing German Films of all time.
