LITERACY (KS1/2)

FlashAcademy® lessons Worksheets Instructions

• Beginner > Letters & Numbers

Alphabet Write the missing letters, then write the correct word under each picture.

★ Make an alphabet book with a page for each letter of the alphabet. Draw pictures and write as many words beginning with that letter as possible

Lowercase letters Write the lowercase letters under the pictures.

★ Write the names of objects around the house on post-its and stick on the objects!

Lowercase and uppercase Match the uppercase to the lowercase letters and write the words.

★ Make a set of cards with a lowercase and uppercase letter on each one. Mix up all the cards and put face down. Take it in turns to turn over two cards. If they match (e.g. a and A), keep the cards and win a point. If not, turn over and try again.

• Beginner > Phonics 1 Matching sounds activity sheet Match the sound to the first letter of the pictures.

★ Take a picture of an object from around the house beginning with each letter of the alphabet. Make a photo gallery.

• Beginner > Phonics 2 Odd one out worksheet Read the words out loud, then cross off the word which has a different sound.

★ Add more words with similar sounds. How many ‘ee’ sound words can you think of?

Phonics race Roll a die to move to a space, then sound out the letter and read the word.

★ Make your own board game using words of your choice.

With home learning becoming increasingly important, it can be challenging to ensure all ability levels and needs are catered for..

Our award-winning language learning platform is the perfect home-learning support tool for pupils with EAL and all pupils with literacy or MFL needs.

During school closure, FlashAcademy® is forming a central part of our strategy of how we continue the learning process, albeit in a virtual way. Children love it so much that the usage is continuing at home with their

families, on tablets, PC’s, laptops and phones, all in a way we can easily track.
