The Largest Airlines and Travel Agencies in L.A. County
14 LOS ANGELES BUSINESS JOURNAL JULy 1, 2013
THE PACESETTER: Apparel retailer Forever 21 Inc. tops the list of the largest women-owned businesses in Los Angeles County. (It is co-owned by husband and wife Do Won and Jin Sook Chang but is considered woman-owned.) The company had nearly $4 billion in revenue for 2012. Forever 21 was co-founded by South Korean emigrants Do Won “Don” Chang and his wife, Jin Sook Chang, and has grown exponentially. Now, Forever 21 is expanding from boutique mall shops to a company that operates like a traditional department store. Some locations are larger than 40,000 square feet, including an 85,000-square-foot store in Cerritos opened in 2010. The larger stores have separate areas for different clothing items and brands. Those different brands include six brands designed by the company for different customers. In addition to its “Forever 21” brand, it has dedicated lines for men, plus-size women and a women’s vintage brand. In total, the company operates more than 480 stores worldwide and has more than 30,000 employees.
ADVERTISING: WorldLink LLC was hired by the Pac-12 Networks last year to sell direct-response ads for its group of national and regional college sports TV networks.
