#FOURPEAT: The Dodgers open their final road trip of the season with

the first of three games in San Diego following Sunday’s NL-West

clinching victory over the Rockies. Following the Padres series, Los

Angeles will close out the regular season with three games against the

Giants this weekend at AT&T Park.

Los Angeles has won five in a row and can match its longest

winning streak of the season (6, June 17-22) with a win tonight.

The Dodgers are a season-high 24 games over .500 and have

reached 90 wins for the fourth consecutive season, a feat that

had only previously been accomplished once in franchise

history, 1951-56 (6).

TINSEL TITLETOWN: The Dodgers clinched the 2016 National

League West Division Championship with Sunday’s victory, their fourth

straight and 15th overall NL West title, as the club reached the

postseason in four consecutive seasons for the first time in franchise

history. The Dodgers are the first team in NL West history to win the

division in four consecutive seasons. The last MLB team to win four

straight division titles was the Detroit Tigers (2011-14, AL Central) and

the last NL club to do so was the Phillies, who won the NL East in five

consecutive seasons from 2007-11.

Dave Roberts joins Tommy Lasorda (1977) as the only

rookie managers ever to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to a

division title. In his first year as manager, Roberts has used a

franchise record-tying 55 total players and 31 different pitchers

(both records originally set last year) on a club that saw 28

different players spend time on the DL, the most for any team

in the last 30 years since at least 1987.

With Charlie Culberson’s 10th-inning home run, the Dodgers

clinched on a walk-off win for the first time since 2004, Steve

Finley’s ninth-inning grand slam to beat the Giants (10/2/04).

Since trailing the Giants by a season-high 8.0 games on June

26, the Dodgers have gone 49-30 (.620), the third-best record

in the Majors behind the Cubs (52-30) and Red Sox (51-30).

The Dodgers will open postseason play next Friday, Oct. 7

against Washington and are 1.0 game behind the Nationals for

the NL’s second-best record/NLDS homefield advantage.

HOME SWEET HOME: The Dodgers closed out their home schedule

with a 53-28 record (.654), tying for the fifth-best mark in Los Angeles

history and the second-best home mark in the National League this

season, behind only the Cubs (57-24, .704). With their Los Angeles-

record 55-26 (.679) home mark last year, the Dodgers’ 108 home wins

during the last two seasons are their most in LA history and are tied for

the second most in franchise history for any two-year period (third time),

behind only the 109 combined home wins in 1941-42.

The Dodgers led Major League Baseball in attendance for the

fourth consecutive season, finishing with 3,703,312 (45,720

average) and eight sellouts on the season. It’s the eighth-

highest single-season attendance in Los Angeles history and

the 15th highest in National League history.

FINISHING STRONG: The Dodgers have the National League’s best

September record at 16-7 (.696), behind only the Red Sox (18-5, .783)

for the Majors’ top mark. Los Angeles tops the Majors with a 2.44 ERA

(56 ER/206.2 IP) this month.

Josh Reddick ranks third in the Majors with a .397 September

batting average, going 23-for-58 with a .435 on-base

percentage (7th, NL) nine runs, five doubles, two homers and

eight RBI in 18 games.

Joc Pederson has the third-highest OPS in the Majors this

month at 1.180, also ranking third in OBP (.484) and placing

seventh in SLG (.696). Pederson has gone 14-for-62 (.304)

with 15 walks (T-4th NL), six homers (T-7th NL) and 10 RBI in

20 September games.

OCTOBER BASEBALL: Limited single-game postseason tickets are

on sale now for potential home games for the National League Division

Series and NL Championship Series and can be purchased online at

Dodgers.com/postseason.

CALL HIM ROY: Corey Seager finished a double shy of the cycle on

Sunday, going 3-for-5, and twice extended the game, with a game-tying

triple in the seventh inning and a two-out solo homer to send the game

to extras in the ninth. It was Seager’s 57th multi-hit game (2nd, NL) and

17th three-hit game (5th, NL). Seager is just 10 hits away from becoming

the first Dodger since Adrian Beltre (2004, 200) to reach the 200-hit

milestone in a single season, and could be just the second rookie in

franchise history to do so, along with Johnny Frederick in 1929 (206

H). Seager’s 190 hits are the most by any big-league rookie since 2001,

when Albert Pujols had 194 hits and Ichiro Suzuki knocked 242.

Seager already holds the Los Angeles rookie record for hits

(190), runs (103) and doubles (40) in a single season, currently

has the highest OBP of any LA rookie (.370) and also remains

in the mix for the top mark in batting average (.313, behind

Piazza: .318, 1993).

Seager ranks among the NL leaders in hits (3rd), runs (T-4th),

doubles (T-4th), total bases (318, 4th), batting average (7th),

extra-base hits (71, 6th) and slugging pct. (.523, 10th).

According to Stats, LLC, if Seager remains in the NL’s Top 10

in batting average and slugging percentage, he’d be just the

fourth rookie in the divisional era (since 1969) to accomplish

the feat, joining Dusty Baker (1972, ATL), Mike Piazza

(1993, LA) and Albert Pujols (2001, STL).

THANK YOU, VIN: Vin Scully called the final home game of his

career on Sunday at Dodger Stadium and addressed the crowd postgame

before showing his appreciation for the fans in song, with the playing of

Scully singing “Wind Beneath My Wings.” Scully will conclude his Hall

of Fame career this weekend and call the Dodgers’ final three regular-

season games at AT&T Park, Sept. 30-Oct. 2. Scully’s call of Sunday’s

season finale will be simulcast in its entirety on television - SportsNet

LA, KTLA - and on AM 570 LA Sports radio.

HILLTOPPERS: With 10 Ks on Sunday, the Dodgers established a

new all-time MLB single-season record with 1,459 strikeouts,

surpassing the 2014 Indians (1,450). In addition to strikeouts, Dodger

pitchers rank among the Major League leaders in ERA (3.62, 4th),

opponents’ batting average (.230, 2nd), WHIP (1.17, 2nd) and shutouts

(15, T-1st), while the club’s relievers continue to lead the Majors in ERA

(3.21, 202 ER/565.2 IP).

With a win tonight, Kenta Maeda (16-9) will tie Rick

Sutcliffe (17-10, 1979) for the most wins by a Los Angeles

rookie. A 17th win would rank as the second most ever by a

Japanese pitcher, behind only Daisuke Matsuzaka’s 18 in 2008

(18-3), and would be the most victories by a big-league rookie

since 2006, when Justin Verlander went 17-9 with the Tigers.

The Dodgers’ 30 wins by rookies this season are the most for

the club in a single season since 1952, when it set a franchise

record with 51 wins by rookie pitchers (Source: Elias Sports

Bureau). LA rookies have combined to go 30-22 with a 3.56

ERA (164 ER/414.1 IP) in 108 games (66 starts) this year.
