Micro and nano sensor technologies, with the aim to achieve unobtrusive, cost-effective, real-time monitoring, detection and prediction of human physiological state in relation to wakefulness, fatigue and stress anytime, everywhere and for everybody.•Start Date: December 2003, End Date: April 2008•FP6 Project Funding: €10 million, 44 members (1 LA)

• WINDS aimed at deepening strategic cooperation on R & D between LA and the EU in ICT topics

• Project Duration: Jan 2007 – Dec 2008, 7 partners

• FP6 Project Funding: €597 K

OASIS is an Integrated Project with the scope to revolutionise the interoperability, quality, breadth and usability of services for all daily activities of older people.

OASIS targets to utilise ICT and other key technologies in order to provide holistic services to older people to support their physical and psychological independence, stimulate their social engagement and foster their emotional well being.

EELA Objectives

• Build a bridge between consolidated e-Infrastructure initiatives in Europe and emerging ones in Latin American

• Create a collaboration network to deploy a large portfolio of scientific applications on a well supported Pilot Test-bed

• Training in grid technologies• The EELA-2 project was accepted by European Commission as

successor of EELA1 and is working since April 2008, it will end on March 2010

Lessons learned through participation in cooperative projects with the EU

• Different problems from the proposal development to final delivery of the report.

• Common to all projects: Intercultural Issues.

• International team of researchers with the possibility of a long-term collaboration.
