Much thought was given to the layout throughout the kitchen to create subtle differences and make parts stand out through the natural accent created by the

Given a contemporary house, I was asked to design a kitchen to match the aesthetic and the efficiency of the rest of the home. This was made possible by the glossy lacquer and subtle color, which avoids highcontrast using the materials chosen. The clean layout creates efficient use of the room, allowing for an easy flow throughout the space.

SYNTHESIS The Life Cycle of a School

1st Floor 2nd Floor

3rd Floor

The concave structure mimics the surrounding mountains, allowing wind to blow through, cooling the hanging classrooms.

Synthesis tackles the issue of urban expansion in an educational setting by merging two structures into one to allow for the development of new rooms as a student population grows and expands. The steel super structure operates as the primary structure while the modular system operates as the secondary structure that can expand to accommodate population growth.

Rescue Center

This rescue center is designed for having the ability to dispatch and train on-site faculty of the facility. I chose to explore curtain wall systems in such a way that the primary, secondary and tertiary structures all retain the same level of transparency throughout the building.

Joined is a sustainable duplex project inspired by Steven Holl’s “The Y House”. The house is built primarily out of concrete that cascades with the terrain, which allows it to absorb solar heat during the day and release it again at night. The vertical expansion operates as a passive cooling system that follows the natural flow of air; heat rises and exits through large windows as a breeze flows in through the house. An angled roof duals as a drainage system while it maximizes the performances of PV panels that generate solar energy.

This study explores a double program (one hidden, and one public) through materiality and the relationship of the interior to the exterior. The concept of threshold is challenged programmatically, particularly through the use of double walls that serve to delineate separate, “hidden” spaces, while at other moments making direct contact with outside, public spaces.Influenced by Adolf Loos’ Muller House, this study is concerned with the effects of shifting perspectives on the user ’s experience of place. The double program encompasses a private spa tucked away into the larger program of a public bodega. Mirrored floors and glass furniture create a sense of transparency. While diffused and filtered light create a soft glow in the spa, adding to the interplay of materials and lighting. Furniture was designed specifically for each room of the spa. In particular, chairs that conform to the contours of the body help to enhance the levels of comfort and relaxation.
