    84B INTERIOR LINEAR CEILINGSThe LUXALON 84B Linear Ceiling is an open ceiling system consisting of aluminium

    or zinc/aluminium coated steel, box-shaped, 84mm wide and 12.5mm deep, plain or

    bridge perforated panels, which can be easily clipped onto the LUXALON RBC Carrier

    The open design of the LUXALON 84B Linear Ceiling provides effective acoustic

    absorption, which is improved by adding insulation material to the back of the

    84B SCHOOL SERIESThe LUXALON 84B School Series Linear Ceiling is similar to the

    LUXALON 84B Ceiling System except that it has been designed

    specifically for schools and the education sector, providing a

    more cost effective solution. The open ceiling system consists

    of zinc/aluminium coated steel, box-shaped, 84mm wide and

    12.5mm deep, plain or bridge perforated panels in the standard

    colour polar white, using the HD COLOR-COTE Coating Process,

    that can be easily clipped onto the LUXALON 84B Steel Carrier.

    The non-perforated panel gaps allow a 16% open area for

    unwanted sound waves to flow into the absorption blanket. The

    bridge perforation allows a greater open area of 19%, improving

    the high frequency absorption.

    84C INTERIOR LINEAR CEILINGS The LUXALON 84C Linear Ceiling is a closed ceiling system consisting of aluminium, box-

    shaped, 84mm wide and 12.5mm deep, plain, bridge or hole perforated panels, which can

    be easily clipped onto the LUXALON RBC Carrier. A variety of interior colours and finishes,

    using the HD COLOR-COTE Coating Process, are available.

    Effective acoustic performance can be achieved by selecting both hole perforated panels

    and insulation material that is added to the back of the LUXALON 84C Ceiling Panels.

    edged, 84mm wide and 16mm deep, plain or hole perforated panels, which can be

    easily clipped onto the concealed LUXALON RBC Carrier. A variety of interior colours

    and finishes, using the HD COLOR-COTE Coating Process, including high mirror

    chrome, are available.

    The open design of the LUXALON 84R Linear Ceiling provides effective acoustic

    absorption, which is improved with the use of hole perforations and insulation material

    laid on the back of the LUXALON 84R Ceiling Panels.

    LUXALON INTERIOR LINEAR CEILING SYSTEMS ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCELUXALON Hushpoly Sound Absorbing Blanket is an exclusive

    component of LUXALON Linear Ceiling Systems. Made from

    polyester fibres and finished with a matt black face for total

    blackout, the bulk density-to-air ratio of Hushpoly ensures

    optimum acoustic performance. It has a low fire rating and is

    user-friendly, with no special protection required by installers.

    Three types of Hushpoly are available, including two for high

    performance installations.

    LUXALON Exterior Linear Ceilings include three profiles 84C, 84R, 150F open and

    closed ceiling systems, providing a number of aluminium and zinc/aluminium coated steel

    linear styles in varied profiles, panel widths and exterior colours and finishes, using the

    HD COLOR-COTE Coating Process, that have the ability to curve and contour to meet

    many project requirements.

    84C EXTERIOR LINEAR CEILINGSThe LUXALON 84C Linear Ceiling is a closed ceiling system consisting of aluminium,

    box-shaped, 84mm wide and 12.5mm deep panels, which can be easily clipped onto the

    concealed LUXALON RBC Carrier.

    MAXIMUM PANEL & STRINGER SPANS 84CThe panel and stringer spans, in relation to the wind load

    (pressure or suction), can be calculated from the graphs

    below.

    READING THE LOAD/SPAN DESIGN GRAPHPanel Span: from the top graph, select the design wind pressure (kPa) on the left hand side and read across to the appropriate curved line. From the intersection point read down to determine the allowable panel span.

    Load on Supporting Structure: the load transmitted from the panels to the supporting structure is determined from the bottom graph.

    From the determined panel span (top graph) read down to the appropriate radiating line for the same design wind pressure (kPa).

    Project a horizontal line to the appropriate side of the graph (right side for 3 structural supports, left side for 4 or more) and read the answer in kN/m. The structural member used must have the capacity to carry this load per metre, over its installed span.

    OR Hunter Douglas Commercial Facade Beam System: these beams are specifically designed for this function. To determine their load capacity, follow the above procedure to the intersection for the radiating line in the lower graph and then project right or left, to either the 60mm or 100mm Facade Beam line and read down to the bottom of the graph for the allowable beam span.

    colours to suit any interior space.

    INsTALLATION

    84B, 84B SCHOOL SERIES, 84C, 84R Marking Suspension Points:

    the maximum carrier and panel spans as

    indicated in the span charts and tables need to

    be taken into account. Calculating Quantities of Components:

    when calculating quantities, ensure sufficient

    quantity of components for cutting and

    wastage. Installing the Carriers: the setting out of the

    carriers should commence from the centre of

    the room working out towards the walls. This

    will allow for any module variation to be taken

    up at the walls ensuring opposite margins to

    be equal.

    The carrier rail is supported by the suspension

    rods for internal suspended ceilings.

    LUXALON Linear Ceilings can be curved

    by creating the required curve within the

    carrier rail. Splice Joining: panel splice: when two panels

    are butted together, a panel splice must be

    used. Panels cannot be splice joined directly

    over any carrier rail. Each LUXALON Ceiling

    Profile has a proprietary profiled splice in its

    component range.

    Carrier rail splice: end to end runs of carrier

    rail are fastened together with carrier rail

    splices. The carrier rail splice must be

    correctly positioned to maintain modularity at

    the junction of each rail. Edge Details: various treatments can be

    used at the perimeter of the LUXALON

    Interior Linear Ceiling Systems depending

    upon the installation requirement. Wall and

    shadowline angles and trims should be

    colour matched to the ceiling and ordered as

    accessories with the ceiling components. Installing and Removing the Panels:

    LUXALON 84 Series Panels are designed

    to clip onto the multi-functional RBC carrier

    (except 84B School Series). The directional

    arrows on the backside of the panels always

    point in the same direction.

    While demounting the panel make sure to

    support the part of the panel that has already

    been removed from the carriers.

    Cut-outs in the panels for downlights and

    other installations should be made before

    installing the panels. Site Cutting Panels: singular blades of panel

    or carrier may be cut using good quality metal

    snips. Alternatively, whole panels are easily

    shaped on a small high speed band saw

    using a fine-toothed blade. The finish on the

    material should be protected during all cutting

    operations. Integrating Lighting and Services: low voltage

    lights can be directly mounted in a panel or in

    a purpose-made fixture plate. Other lighting

    integration is available including downlights in

    purpose-made fixture plates. Acoustic Blankets and Overlays: acoustic

    blankets and pads or batts with black facing

    should be placed on the flanges of the panel

    carriers. Sound entering between the panels

    will be absorbed by material above the panels.

    Adequate clearance around lights must be

    made in blankets and overlays to prevent the

    risk of overheating or fire.

    84C, 84R, 150F For exterior applications, the carrier rail must

    be backed by a structural supporting member

    and fixed at 375mm centres maximum to that

    member with approved fasteners.

    LUXALON Exterior Linear Ceilings must be

    fully braced to withstand the design wind load

    requirements for the particular installation site.

    The panel and carrier spans in relation to the

    wind load are to be determined using the span

    charts.
