Kiwiana Kids workshops are unique and have been especially created for our LynnMall customers. There is a different Kiwiana workshop theme each day for the children to enjoy!

All sessions are FREE and will be on a first come first served basis.

Welcome!2014 is already upon us and so is the April School Holidays! This year we are running Kiwiana Kids workshops at LynnMall for the very first time.

The Kiwiana Kids activities are unique and have been created especially for LynnMall customers! Not only will the children be entertained through our interactive

workshops but there will be lots of Kiwiana fun facts to learn! What’s even better is that the workshops are completely FREE and you don’t have to pre-book (although it will be on a first come first served basis).

We also have some food ideas for those Easter gatherings with friends and family. Our lovely LynnMall customer service team member Eseta will share her favourite family

recipe, ‘Fijian Chicken Curry’. Be warned, this is definitely not for the faint hearted!

We hope you enjoy making Eseta’s curry as much as we have enjoyed tasting it over the years!

Kiwiana Kids

It’s almost that time of year again; Easter holidays, fun with the family, hot cross buns, and of course - chocolate! It’s also time to find some fun things for the kids to do.

Armed with a colouring set, box of eggs, and newspaper spread over the kitchen table, painting eggs is a great way for the kids to unleash their creativity.

Then once you have a great collection of colourful eggs have an Easter egg hunt. Make sure to throw in some eggs of the chocolate variety too!

With the weather also starting to cool down, make sure to check out Eseta’s Fijian Chicken Curry recipe, which will definitely add some heat to your holidays!

Eseta’s Fijian Chicken CurryIngredients:

Method:

• 1.8-2kg chicken • 6 curry leaves• ½ tsp cumin seeds• ½ tsp mustard seeds• 10 gloves garlic• 1 tbsp ginger• 1 onion

1. Chop chicken into bite sized pieces.2. Peel and finely chop onion, set aside.3. Combine garlic, chillies, ginger in a mortar and pestle and

pound until it becomes a paste (make sure to add 1 tsp salt. This will help make paste and also garlic doesn’t fly everywhere).

4. Add garam masala, turmeric and some water to the garlic paste and mix to make a curry paste. Set aside. (this should be a runny consistency).

5. Heat canola oil in cooking pot.6. Add mustard and cumin seeds to the pot and stir until

seeds pop.7. Add curry leaves and watch out for oil splatter.8. Add chopped onions and cook until well browned.9. Add curry paste and stir for a few minutes until garlic is well

browned (this should be a nice yellowish colour).10. Add chicken and a pinch of salt.11. Stir and let cook until water comes out of the chicken12. Cook until water evaporates and add 3 tbsp of tomato sauce.13. Stir and taste the flavour making sure the chicken is cooked.14. Garnish with coriander and serve with rice, roti or

naan bread.

• 1 tsp curry powder• ¼ tsp turmeric powder• 3 tbsp garam masala• 1 tsp salt• 4 fresh chillies• 2 tbsp cooking oil• ½ cup chopped coriander• 3 tbsp tomato sauce

Mum can access the lounge by simply spending $70 or more at LynnMall in one day and present her receipts to the hostess at the lounge for entry.

Once at the lounge, she’ll be able to relax and choose to have a mini manicure or a head and shoulder massage. Make-up and hair experts from the Body Shop and Rodney Wayne will also be available to give her hair and make-up tips!
