You may have seen our banners and logopoppingup around the festival but you maysti ll be wonder ing exactly who we are(especially witha name like MediaFish which

    doesn't really give much away).

So allow us to introduce ourselves. We are a co-operative ofyoung people, who are funded by LSCash to present fi lm toother young people. We meet once a week in the Town Hall ina space of our own which we call the Film Academy (or theFishtank!). This is the control centre where we come up withideas, organise events and feed our passion for film! Outsideof the fishtank, we programme our own cinema screenings atthewonderful Hyde Park Picture House forother young peopleand their families, for free. We present a variety of films fromaction and drama to world cinema and animation.

Further afield, we visit international film festivals - this year itwasBUFF festival, held in Sweden. By seeing howother culturespresent their festivals we can build ideas for our own, ensuringthat cinema across the globe is accessible to everyone.

At the time of writing, we're busy with programming films andorgansing workshops for the festival. We'll have other eventsfor you to get involved in over the coming months too so if youwant to join or find out more check our website and blog at
