Thanks to all of you who have been with us for a while and thanks to all our new customers. We’re glad you found us.

From day one Alaska Bowhunting Supply has been dedicated to providing the highest-quality archery products available anywhere, regardless of price. Our roots are in traditional bowhunting. We’re fans of the stick and string but arrows and broadheads don’t know what kind of bow they’re being shot from. Once our GrizzlyStik® arrows and broadheads hit the field and the word quickly spread of how effective they were, forward thinking compound shooters started using them with amazing results. Our products are for all bowhunters. When you think of GrizzlyStik, think – Specialty Gear for Advanced Bowhunters.

GrizzlyStik® Carbon Arrows. Bowhunters need an arrow that is heavy and tough, one that flies like a dart and drives broadheads completely through large and dangerous game. We studied archer’s paradox, momentum, and tested the ‘fast vs. heavy’ debate. In the end the beefy GrizzlyStik tapered carbon arrow was born. We feel our GrizzlyStiks are the best arrow choice for bowhunting, period. They’re the perfect delivery system for our single bevel broadheads.

GrizzlyStik Single Bevel Broadheads. After 27 years of researching arrow penetration and broadhead performance on 623 big game animals Dr. Ed Ashby published his criteria for the perfect broadhead. A year and a half later we hit on the perfect combination and unleashed the Ashby broadhead. (Dr. Ashby graciously allowed us to name it after him. ONLY if we made it clear that he never has and never will receive any compensation for the sale of that broadhead.) Since the introduction of the Ashby last

fall, it has performed flawlessly on several dozen Cape Buffalo, a couple elephant, a mix of the other African dangerous 7 and a number of Asiatic buffalo. The performance has been astounding! To see all the reports, click on the Dr. Ed Ashby tab on our home page at AlaskaBowhunting.com.

Most folks really can’t sharpen broadheads very well. Our Broadhead Pro’s have made broadhead touch-up a breeze, but we found an awesome total sharpening system! Don’t miss the GrizzlyStik Razor Sharp System on page 10. Even if you’re good with files and stones, you’ll appreciate the how fast you can get your broadheads razor sharp now!

Coming Soon! For the first time ever, we’ve designed a bow around an arrow. Our GrizzlyStik arrows are a delivery system for our broadheads and the GrizzlyStik Adcock is a delivery system for our arrows. (See write-up on next page.) We enlisted the help of the best in the business when it comes to limb design, O. L. Adcock.

Thanks for your support! We promise to continue developing the best bowhunting products we can to make your hunt the best it can be. Stay in touch, enjoy the hunt and remember…

“Stalk softly and carry a big Stik.”

3

O.L. Adcock is well known for his world class flight shooting equipment. His bow and arrow designs have dominated the sport since 2005. In other words, O.L. knows limb efficiency. That’s why we turned to him to design a bow around our GrizzlyStik arrows and broadheads. We asked him for a bow that would cast a heavy arrow hard. Of course he did that, but that wasn’t good enough for O. L., he designed us a bow that may very well be the most efficient ever. Not only does it cast a heavy arrow hard, it casts ANY arrow hard! As a matter of fact, the tests show it out-shoots most recurve bows!

The Adcock longbow is screaming fast, smooth, and stable. When you imagine the ultimate bow for big game hunting, picture the GrizzlyStik Adcock.

Deciding who would manufacture our new bow was not easy. We looked everywhere and finally selected Win & Win Archery. Why? Because Win & Win bows have rocked the world in target and Olympic competition for years! The owner, Park Kyung Rae, has archery in his blood. He’s one of the most successful World Championship and Olympic archery coaches ever. Under his guidance, the South Korean national team became the most dominate force in the archery world. Win & Win bows capture more medals each year, including individual gold won by Viktor Ruban in Beijing 2008. With that kind of precision and attention to detail we couldn’t go wrong.

The new GrizzlyStik Adcock longbow is the first bow ever developed around an arrow and broadhead system. It’s the perfect bow for serious big game bowhunting. Our slogan has become, “When You’re Ready for Something Bigger.” The fact of the matter is, if you truly are ready for something bigger, we’ve got you covered. When you take to the field with the complete GrizzlyStik system, our bow, our arrows, and our broadheads, you are ready for anything that moves!

The GrizzlyStik Adcock will be available in 62”, 64”, and 66”. They won’t be ready for shipment until late 2009. If you want to get your hands on this incredible new bow, call us at 888.697.9828.

Announcing the NEW

What do you get when you take a bow designed by O.L. Adcock and cross it with a manufacturer who’s bow won the Men’s archery gold medal in Beijing?

samurai BroadheadSamurai broadheads are available in five popular weights so you can find the perfect match for you and your set up. You’ll get amazing arrow flight and accuracy but when your broadhead hits home, that’s when you’ll really be impressed. Samurai broadheads with their thick ultra-tuff blades, deep single bevels, and razor sharp edges easily penetrates big game of all sizes. The penetration is phenomenal, and bone? No problem! Our Tanto-tips initiate the cut, and then the devastating rotational force created by the opposing bevels shatters and splits bone. You’ll never worry about bone hits again.

The sword of the Samurai never failed. It’s one of the most respected weapons in history. For that reason our straight-edged two-piece broadheads bear the name, Samurai .

Fill your quiver with Samurai-tipped GrizzlyStiks and hunt hard knowing your equipment will never let you down.

Available in 100, 125, 150, 175 and 200 grains. Please specify right or left bevel.

Note: Always match left bevel with left wing feathers and right bevel with right wing feathers.

maasai BroadheadOur convex Maasai broadhead is based on the popular single bevel Nanook but gives you the option of five popular weights so you can easily match one to your bowhunting setup. Their deep razor sharp single bevels and thick ultra-tuff blades make them suitable for any big game animal on the face of the earth. From turkey to Cape buffalo, there’s nothing a Maasai can’t handle.

If you’re a fan of the convex blade, or perhaps you’ve used Silver Flames but you’re interested in seeing the effectiveness of the single bevel design, try a pack of Maasai broadheads and see the difference for yourself. Fill your quiver with Maasai-tipped GrizzlyStiks and hunt hard knowing your equipment will never let you down.

Available in 100, 125, 150, 175 and 200 grains. Please specify right or left bevel.

Note: Always match left bevel with left wing feathers and right bevel with right wing feathers.

Single

Bevel Broadheads

NaNook BroadheadThe Nanook is one mean single bevel head.

Dr. Ed Ashby’s reports have proven that thick, heavy, single bevel broadheads are the best in penetration and especially in “bone busting”. The BIG game success of the popular Silver Flame broadhead proved the effectiveness of the convex broadhead shape. Combining the two to produce the ultimate convex head was an easy decision for us. We named it “Nanook” after the polar bear of the far North. If you’re a fan of convex broadheads and you’re ready to take on some really BIG game, consider the Nanook single bevel broadhead. It is “putting down” some pretty big game all over the world right now. Try a pack of Nanook broadheads today.

The Nanook is a one-piece broadhead machined from a solid piece of 440B stainless steel. There are no weak points. Of course they offer our signature bone busting tanto tip. All edges, including the trailing edge are honed razor sharp at the factory.

Available in 290 grains. Please specify right or left bevel.

Note: Always match left bevel with left wing feathers and right bevel with right wing feathers.

ashBy Broadheads“No such thing as overkill.” Dr. Ed Ashby

After more than 20 years of broadhead lethality research, Dr. Ed Ashby revealed his list of mandatory design aspects he felt the ultimate big and dangerous game broadhead needed. We took that list and for 18 months we engineered, tested, and redesigned until we got it right.

From day one in the field, our Ashby broadhead has been dropping anything in its path! Bowhunters around the world have been experiencing pass-throughs on everything and anything, even Cape buffalo, Asiatic buffalo and elephant. The PH’s can’t believe it; they’ve never seen anything like it.

The Ashby is designed to be the world’s ultimate broadhead and we nailed it! It’s one thing to say it. It’s another to prove it. The proof is in the results. For testimonials, success photos and videos, check out the Ashby broadhead section of our website at: AlaskaBowhunting.com.

Each Ashby is forged and then machined from a solid piece of 440B stainless steel. There are no weak points. They’re super strong, super tough, and super sharp! All Ashby broadheads carry our signature bone busting tanto tip and all edges, including the trailing edge, are honed razor sharp at the factory.

Available in 315 grains of bone splitting broadhead power. Please specify right or left bevel.

Note: Always match left bevel with left wing feathers and right bevel with right wing feathers.

Dr. Ashby receives NO compensation for the use of his name on these broadheads.

All our GrizzlyStik single bevel broadheads are earning the reputation as the ONLY choice when bowhunting the largest of game. Why not shoot a GrizzlyStik Broadhead? Why not shoot the best?

What makes us so different? The GrizzlyStik is an incredibly strong, heavy, hunting arrow shaft that was developed and designed to

do one thing very well...to lethally penetrate game animals for a quick, humane kill.

When most other carbon shafts on the market are talking about speed – we focus on momentum, impact durability and arrow penetration. The momentum that can be delivered by a heavy hunting arrow is proven and simple (English war arrows made the armored French knight obsolete) but the design of the GrizzlyStik is state of the art.

coNtiNuous taper techNoloGySlow-motion photography proves that when an arrow is shot out of a bow, it bends and flexes. The sudden acceleration causes a bending that’s called the archer’s paradox. Draw weight, shaft and point weight also play an important part in this bending. The quicker an arrow can straighten out from the paradox the less drag it has. Tapered GrizzlyStiks, because of their continuous taper design, have less weight on the rear portion of the arrow enabling them to quickly straighten out from this bending.

Very little thought is given to what happens to an arrow when it decelerates when striking a target. The reverse happens. Now, however, the bending takes place in animal tissue, and this bending causes friction...drag...which slows penetration. Tapered GrizzlyStiks, because of their lighter tail weight, straighten out much more quickly when accelerating and decelerating resulting in less drag and more penetration.

If a shaft breaks, penetration stops. That’s why the widest and strongest part of the GrizzlyStik is directly behind the point, where it’s needed most.

If bone is hit and penetrated, tapered GrizzlyStiks continue to get smaller. Less bone friction results in greater potential penetration.

wide spiNe raNGeBecause of the continuous taper of the shaft, the GrizzlyStik has the widest spine ranges available in the carbon arrow market. Of course, this spine range is dependent on the type of bow used, (longbow, recurve or compound) the arrow length and the point weight of the arrow.

Generally, the Sitka is designed for bows in the 40-55 pound range. The Alaskan, 50-65 pound range and the Safari, 60 to 100+ pounds of draw weight.

extreme Forward oF ceNter (eFoc)Tapered GrizzlyStiks are the only arrow shaft with a built in EFOC, which is proven to significantly increase lethal penetration by up to 40%. Secondly, EFOC along with the continuous taper design instantly stabilizes arrow flight for improved accuracy.

The broadhead and the first third of the shaft...pulls...the arrow through the animal tissue rather than the arrows shaft pushing the broadhead. Pulling is much more efficient.

critical massThe GrizzlyStik shaft is designed to maximize arrow momentum by allowing the bowhunter to build arrows in the 10 grains of total arrow weight per pound of bow draw weight. Simply put, the Sitka can be made into a finished arrow weighing 400 - 600 grains, the Alaskan, 500 - 700 grains and the Safari, 700 - 1000+ grains.

multi-directioNal woveN carBoNThe original GrizzlyStik is the only hunting arrow to use the Multi-directional Woven Carbon. Other arrow shafts manufacturers use linear carbon fiber that is wrapped in multiple layers, similar to a sheet of plywood. These ply’s can delaminate and fracture on hard frontal impact. The GrizzlyStik structural design is similar to steel reinforced concrete.

Grizzlystik sitka shaFtsThe Sitka is the latest addition to the GrizzlyStik arrow shaft line and is designed to fill the demand of bowhunters who shoot lighter draw weight bows but still want a moderately heavy arrow. With its wide static spine deflection, they shoot like darts out of 40# to 55#+ bows. Finished Sitka arrows weigh in at approximately 430 to 530+ grains including 125 to 155+ grain heads. The Sitka, full length at 32.5" BOP, comes with brass point inserts and push-in, tunable white nocks. Straightness tolerance of +/- .005”.

6001 Sitka shafts only / 6 pack / $79.95

Grizzlystik alaskaN shaFtsThe Alaskan, because of its wide spine range and heavy weight, is the most popular shaft of the GrizzlyStik line. With a static spine designed for 50#-80# + bows, the Alaskan shaft makes up a finished arrow weighting between 550 and 650+ grains including a 125 to 250+ grain head. This makes it just right for most moderate draw weight bows and virtually any game animal from whitetails to kudu. Finished Alaskan arrows weigh in at approximately 550 and 650+ grains including a 125 to 250+ grain head. The Alaskan, full length at 32.5" BOP, comes with brass point inserts and push-in, tunable white nocks. Straightness tolerance of +/- .005”.

6002 Alaskan shafts only / 6 pack / $79.95

Grizzlystik saFari shaFtsThe Safari is designed and built for the largest, toughest and most dangerous of game animals. Big animals with fibrous skin, thick ribs, horns, teeth and claws. For a growing number of experienced bowhunters of dangerous game, the Safari has become the standard for Cape and Asiatic Buffalo. It has the same features as the tough Alaskan but at 16 grains per inch at full length, the Safari is the strongest and heaviest production shaft available. Finished Safari arrows weigh in at approximately 550 and 650+ grains including a 125 to 250+ grain head and are designed to be shot out of bows between 55 and 100+ pounds draw weight. The Safari, full length at 32.5" BOP, comes with brass point inserts and push-in, tunable white nocks. Straightness tolerance of +/- .005”.

NOTE: For weight recommendations on specific animals, call our Tech Support line.

BIG FIVE AND DANGEROUS GAME HUNTERS: By adding internal point weights and stronger and heavier broadheads, i.e. Ashby or Nanook, a 1,200+ grains arrow with 25+% FOC can be achieved.

Please Note: Since not all bows in the same draw weight are alike, for best arrow flight, it is highly recommended that the customer tune the shaft to the bow. Besides adjusting point weight, tuning the arrow to the bow often requires cutting the shaft to adjust the spine. If you request the shafts cut to length in our shop, a $4.00 fee will be added. If you would like us to install your inserts, a $4.00 fee will be added. For more arrow tuning information, please go to AlaskaBowhunting.com.

clear arrow wrapsWe advise our customers against fletching or using a painted cap-dip directly on GrizzlyStik arrows because after the feathers are worn you have to deal with removing the paint and/or the fletching glue. If paint remover is used

it removes the shaft finish exposing the carbon gray of the shaft. No big deal but the beautiful amber finish is ruined. Some people scrape the glue off the shaft with some sort of a tool. Bad idea. Never use anything like that on a carbon shaft because it can raise carbon slivers. If you don’t want a colored wrap, use our new clear wraps.

Note: Stripping the vinyl wrap is easy. Just use a mild heat source. The vinyl peels right off feathers and all.

limBskiNsIn hunting situations bow glare can tip off the game and ruin your hunt. When you need to see but not be seen, use soft silent LimbSkins. striNG sileNcer – QiviutQiviut (pronounced ki-vee-ute) is the Eskimo word for the ultra-fine under wool of the musk ox (oomingmak), an animal that was hunted to near extinction by commercial whalers during the 19th century. Today the musk ox roams much of its historic range in Arctic Alaska. However, a domestic

herd of a few hundred animals are kept on musk ox farms where their Qiviut is collected by hand each spring and then knitted into silky but extremely expensive garments. The grayish-brown Qiviut is hand spun into yarn for these silencers. It’s light as goose down, much lighter than any synthetic or fur silencers. That means no loss in arrow speed AND a super quiet string. Perfect for Flemish or endless loop bow strings.Sold by the pair.

striNG sileNcer – BisoN For centuries Native Americans depended upon the Bison for their very survival. They used every part of the animal for food, clothing, shelter, and tools. Now you can honor that tradition with our Bison string silencers. Elegant yet simple, these effective bow silencers help you avoid detection as you hunt the wariest of game! May be used on Flemish twist or endless loop strings. Sold by the pair.
