M.A. Rangoonwala College of Physiotherapy and Research was established in the

academic year 2004-2005 under the aegis of Maharashtra Medical Education & Research Center

(M.M.E & R.C). Permission of State Government vide order No MED-1399/CR/117/99 dated

29th October 2002 was granted. The college is affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health

Sciences, Nashik & is registered under the Indian Association of Physiotherapists (I.A.P). The

College has permission from Maharashtra Council of Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy Degree is awarded after the completion of 4 1/2 years

course. College has an intake capacity of 30 students at the Under Graduate level. Masters of

Physiotherapy Degree has started from 2010-11. It is awarded after the completion of 3 years

Course. College has an intake capacity of 2 Post Graduate students each year.

List of Co-Curricular and Extra Curricular Activities held

1. Free Physiotherapy Camp was held at Junnar on 20/03/2015 along with Sakal

Social Foundation. 86 patients participated in the camp. Dr. Sanjeev Singh and

students participated in the Camp.

2. Our College provided the Physiotherapy Support for the State level football

tournament organized at Agashe College on 9th, 10th and 11th May 2015. Dr.

Sanjeev Singh and Interns- Mr. Aylmer and Mr. Sidharth provided Physiotherapy

Support.

3. On PMT Foundation day, free Physiotherapy camp was organized at Swargate.

Dr. Sanjev Singh and Students attended the Camp.

4. To celebrate 1st International Yoga Day, Yoga session was held from 7.00 am to

7.45 am. Yoga training sessions were held for 1 week prior to that. Staff and

Students participated in it.

5. MUHS Foundation Day was celebrated on 30th June 2015. Flag hoisting ceremony

was done to celebrate the occasion.

6. On 4th August 2015, lecture of Ms. Rekha Sachdev dietician at Apollo clinic

Wanowrie on Anaemia and obesity was arranged. It was attended by staff and all

UG and PG students.

7. On 5th September 2015, Dr. Ronika Agrawal was invited to chair the session at

Physiotherapy conference held at Noble Hospital.

8. On 5th September 2015, Dr. Sanjeev Singh, IVth BPTh & MPTh students attended

the Seminar on Geriatrics in B. J. Medical College.

9. On 12th September 2015, Dr. Ronika Agrawal, Dr. Gunasekaran, Dr. Seemab Khan

& Dr. Preeti Shah attended the lecture on “ Funding agencies and writing a

research proposal” arranged by D.Ed College.

10. IVth BPTh & MPTh students attended the CME on “Parkinsonism” organized by

Medicine Department of Sasson Hospital on 1st October 2015.

11. World elderly a day was celebrated on 1st October 2015 at St. John’s old age home

& as well as in college OPD.

12. On world Arthritis Day, 12th October 2015, a free Physiotherapy camp was

organized in Physiotherapy OPD. 76 patients participated in the same.

13. Dr. Sanjeev Singh, IVth BPTh & MPTh students attended the seminar in KEM

Hospital on Wheelchair Management on 15th October 2015.

14. Dr. Gunasekaran & IV BPTh students went for industry visit. They demonstrated

exercises and right ergonomics to the workers.

15. On 26th October 2015, Ist BPTh Students attended the seminar on self defence

organized by M.A.Rangoonwala College of Hotel Management.

16. Dr. Ronika Agarwal, Dr. Seemab Khan, Dr. Gunasekaran, Dr. Sanjeev Singh, Dr.

Gayatri Agashe, Dr. Raksha Thakrar and Dr. Preeti Shah attended full day

workshop on ICF held by Scientifica in the month of November 2015.

17. From 20 -22 November 2015, Physiotherapy services were provided for Oxfam

trail walker, Dr. Sanjeev & Dr. Raksha along with students & Interns attended the

same.

18. On 12th December 2015, Dr. Ronika Agrawal and Dr. Gunasekaran attended the

inaugural function of Annual Hand Therapy Conference held at B.J. Medical

College.

19. On 14th December 2015, Dr. Mushtaque Mukadam & Dr. Ronika Agrawal

attended the send off Ceremony of Dr. Arun Jamkar, V.C. MUHS held at Tilak

Ayurvedic College.

20. Dr. Ketki Ponde, Dr. Sharayu Agre & 7 Students presented the poster at Avishkar

2015 held at MUHS, Nashik on 17th December 2015.

21. Mr. Joel of Rangoonwala Foundation visited the college on 21st December 2015

and interacted with Rangoonwala Foundation students.

22. On 28th December 2015, free Physiotherapy camp was held in Physiotherapy

OPD. 48 patients attended the camp.

23. Free Physiotherapy rural camp was held on 25th and 29th December 2015

organized by NSS Camp of Law College and Abeda Inamdar Senior College. Dr.

Sanjeev Singh and Students participated in the camp.

24. Dr. Sharayu Agre attended Advanced Medical Education Technology workshop

from 27th December 2015 to 02nd January 2016.

25. On 10th January 2016, lecture cum practical demonstration was held for students

on CPR and 108 ambulance services.

26. Free Physiotherapy Camp held at PMPL depot, Swargate on occasion of PMPL

Foundation Day on 15th January 2015. Dr. Sanjeev and students attended the

camp. 94 patients attended the camp.

27. On 19th January 2015, Rangoonwala Foundation Volunteers paid the visit to our

college. They saw the functioning of our O.P.D. & enquired about admission

criteria to Physiotherapy.

28. On 18th & 19th January 2016, Dr. Sanjeev Singh & Dr. Ketki Ponde took the lecture

for students of Abeda Inamdar Jr. College on Ergonomics for school bags, obesity

and exercise.

29. On 31st January 2016, students Volunteers for the Marathon for spreading breast

cancer Awareness. It was arranged by Tata trust in association with Pranstanti

Cancer Care Mission.

30. Students participated in the Physio Fest of Sancheti college of Physiotherapy on

30th , 31st & 1st February 2016 & won prizes in it.

31. Maharashtra OTPT Council Inspection was on 11th April 2016. Dr. Vairagade from

Govt. Medical College, Aurangabad & Dr. P.P. Uke, Vice – President of Council

came for inspection.

32. MUHS UG inspection was done on 20th April 2016.

33. Dr. Ronika Agrawal, Dr. Ketki & Dr. Raksha attended the CME on Geriatric

respiratory function on 22nd April, held at Sancheti Hospital.

34. Swatch Bharat Abhiyan was carried out by 1st BPTh to 4th BPTh students.

35. International Yoga day was celebrated on 21st June 2016. Essay competition was

organized on this day.

Sports and Extra Curricular Activities (2015- 2016)

July 2015 - Students had arranged the Iftar Party.

January 2016 - Fresher’s Party was organized to welcome First Year

B.P.Th.students

February 2016 - Intra- Collegiate Sports Meet was organized where

students participated in various sports Like Badminton,

Carrom, Basketball, Volleyball, Cricket and Throwball.

February 2016 - Funfair & Cultural week was organized by the Students.

Farewell was given to Interns.

April 2016 - Prize Distribution Ceremony was held where Academic

& Sports prizes were given.

1. Ms. Jayashree Gopinath represented the MUHS for Basket ball.

2. Ms Sana Shaikh of II BPTh got the 2nd Prize for logo quiz & Ms. Eden Mehdiabadi

got 1st prize for the T-Shirt painting competition at Sancheti College of

Physiotherapy.

4. 3rd BPTh Students Miss. Ayesha Siddiqui got 2nd prize for face painting

Subject of Surgery.

6. Mr. Asif Noor of II BPTh was the winner in badminton single and Mr. Faiz

Tamboli of 1st BPTh was the runner up in badminton single both were the

winners of badminton doubles (boys) in intra campus sports competition held in

December 2015.

7. In January 2016, Ms. Aliya khan of 3rd BPTh attended the two days conference on

“Pune Model United Nation” held at Bishop’s School, Pune.
