Refunds

By registering for YMCA Swim Lessons, you are agreeing that you understand that non-attendance does not entitle you to a refund. No

refunds or adjustments are granted for illness, vacation or when YMCA programs are cancelled due to inclement weather. The YMCA

reserves the right to apply any credit due to other outstanding balances.

Refunds are issued within 45 days of cancellation. Written cancellations received two weeks prior to the start of the program will be issued

a partial refund. There is a cancellation fee of $25 for all cancellations.

How many sessions should I expect to register my child for? Each and every child progresses differently. During the first class, all students will be assessed and put into the appropriate skill level. Bother preschool and youth swim lessons have three levels of progression (detailed inside). Some children are able to master all of the skills in one session, while other children benefit from hearing the instruction again.

How will I know how my child is doing? Swim instructors are available before and after class to talk with parents. Additionally, each child has a skill card where instructors track their progress, feel free to ask to see this card.

What if a class is canceled? The YMCA makes every effort to hold class as scheduled. If due to weather or unforeseen circumstances the pool is closed, we will schedule a make-up day.

What kind of communication should I expect? Before your session begins, look for an introductory e-mail. This will also invite you to a quick parent meeting at the end of the fourth lesson. Instructors are available before and after class each week. Certificates are awarded at the conclusion of each session.

Where can I register or check to see if a class is full? The YMCA Welcome Center or online at YMCATriangle.org

Do you offer private swim lessons? We have private and semi-private lessons available to YMCA members. Contact Cole.Surber@YMCATriangle.org for more information.

Does my child need to wear a swim diaper and where do I get them? If your child is not potty-trained, they should wear a swim diaper. These are available at most retail stores that sell diapers, these have elastic waist and leg bands.
