Para poder participar en el programa de educación pre-escolar del distrito de Manor, los niños deben tener tres o cuatro años de edad en o antes del 1 de septiembre. Adicionalmente deben reunir uno de los siguientes criterios:

•No poder hablar o comprender inglés•Desventaja económica (basada en el programa de almuerzo gratuito o reducido)

•Sin hogar•Hijos de miembros de las fuerzas armadas de Estados Unidos en activo, heridos o muertos cuando estaban sirviendo en el servicio militar

•Adopción temporal

In order to participate in Manor ISD’s free three-year-old or four-year-old prekindergarten program, children must be three or four-year-old on or before September 1st, 2012. Children must also meet one of the following criteria:

•Unable to speak and comprehend the English language•Economically disadvantaged (based on free or reduced-price lunch program)

•Homeless•Children of active duty member of the armed forces of the United States or injured or killed while serving on active duty

•Foster Care

TUITION BASED OPTIONS FOR NON-ELIGIBLE STUDENTS

Students who do not meet the eligibility criteria, may still attend Manor ISD’s Prekindergarten Tuition Based Program.

•Fee is $217 per month for 1/2 day sessions.•Payments are based on a yearly tuition rate.•The cost of this 1/2 day prekindergarten tuition-based program is $1950 for the entire year.

•This breaks into 9 monthly installments of $217 beginning on or before August 27, 2012, with the last payment due on May 1, 2013.

•This will enable your child to receive instruction from August 27, 2012 through June 5, 2013.

•Children may attend the school assigned to their community.

Los estudiantes que no reúnen los criterios mencionados, pueden asistir al programa pre-escolar de Manor por un costo.•El Costo es de $217 pos mes por una sesión de medio día

•El costo de este programa de pago de prekindergarten es de $1,950.00 por todo el año escolar.

•Student classes will be divided according to age whenever possible.

•All student class enrollment numbers will be proportionate.

• If a multi-age classroom is necessary to ensue that all classrooms maintain proportionate numbers, the following age requirements must be taken into account:

• Any three-year-old born throughout the months of September through December will be assigned to the “three-year-old-classroom.”

• Any three-year-old born throughout the months of January through May will be assigned to the “four-year-old classroom.”

• Parent requests may be honored if the procedures listed above can be met.

Pre-K students are not required to be enrolled in school. However, upon enrollment, all Pre-K students are required to attend school because they fall under the state’s compulsory attendance laws.We request that notes accompany all students returning to school after an absence so that we have documentation as to the reasons a student is absent.The guidelines for Manor ISD are that notification will be sent to parents when the student has incurred four to five absences.When a student has seven absences, the parents will be invited to an attendance committee meeting, which is held to determine if extenuating circumstances exist. If the child reaches ten or more absences, and the attendance committee determines that the extenuating circumstances do not exist, the school attendance officer will file a complaint against the parents. This can result in a court hearing and fines being imposed.Attendance is extremely important. Our Prekindergarten Program is not a day care facility to be used for the convenience of childcare. Our program is instructional and prepares students to learn math and reading in kindergarten. Students who attend school learn more and excel academically. Please help us ensure your child's success.

No es requisito que estudiantes de Pre-Kinder estén matriculado en la escuela.. Sin embargo, cuando se matriculan, los estudiantes de Pre-Kinder son requeridos a asistir a la escuela por la ley estatal de leyes obligatorias de asistencia. Padres necesitan estar concientes de que ellos deben de obedecer estas leyes. Les pedimos que envíen una nota con sus niños al regresar a la escuela después de una ausencia para tener documentación de los motivos por los cuales ocurrieron las ausencias. Los requisitos de Manor ISD es que se envíe una notificación a los padres cuando el estudiante obtiene cuatro-cinco ausencias.

 Cuando un estudiante obtiene siete ausencias, los padres serán invitados a una junta con el comité de asistencia, para saber cual es la razón de las ausencias. Si un estudiante obtiene diez ó más ausencias, y el comité determina que no existen circunstancias extenúas, el oficial de la escuela pondrá una queja en contra del padre con las autoridades apropiadas. Esto puede resultar en ser citado a la corte y posibles multas. Asistencia es extremadamente importante. Nuestro programa de Pre-Kinder no es una facilidad de cuidado infantil para conveniencia. Nuestro programa prepara a los estudiantes para aprender matemáticas y lectura en kinder. Estudiantes que asisten a la escuela aprenden más y superan académicamente. Por favor asegúrese del éxito de su hijo/a al asistir a la escuela regularmente.

We are excited that your prekindergarten child is enrolling in Manor Independent School District and want to take this opportunity to share some important information.

We are here to make your child’s first school experience enjoyable and positive. Our program prepares students to learn math, language, reading, and socialization skills that are important in kindergarten and beyond. Students who attend school learn more and excel academically. Therefore, your child’s attendance is extremely important. In addition, once your child enrolls into prekindergarten, they are subject to state’s compulsory attendance laws. Please ensure your child’s compliance with the law by having him/her attend regularly.

In accordance with the Texas Education Agency, it is expected that all prekindergarten students be toilet trained by the time they enter school. As such, no pull ups or diapers should be sent to school. It is not the school’s responsibility to toilet train a child. For hygiene purposes, students who soil themselves during the course of the day will be taken to the restroom to change their clothes. If a child is unable to change his/her clothes, the parent will be called to come clean up the child or pick up the child. Please help us by making sure that your child has an extra change of clothes at school by providing an updated telephone number where you can be reached. After three incidents, it will be noted that your child is not toilet trained.

Procedimientos para el uso de baños

Estamos emocionados de que su niño(a) vaya a ser inscrito en el programa de Pre kínder en Manor ISD y nos gustaría tomar esta oportunidad para compartir información importante para usted. Nuestra meta es hacer de que el primer año escolar de su hijo(a) sea una experiencia divertida y positiva. Nuestro programa prepara a los estudiantes a aprender matemáticas, lenguaje, lectura y habilidades para socializar, las cuales son importantes para pre kínder y para su futuro. Los estudiantes que asisten a la escuela aprenden más y tienen más éxito académico. Por lo tanto, la asistencia de su hijo(a) a la escuela es muy importante. Además, una vez que el niño(a) está inscrito en el programa de pre kínder, la ley del estado de asistencia entra en efecto. Por favor asegure el éxito de su hijo(a) y cumpla con la regla del estado al hacer que su hijo(a) asista a clases regularmente. Al revisar los estándares de pre kínder con la Agencia de Educación de Tejas se espera que todos los niños estén listos para utilizar el baño apropiadamente y que hayan dejado el uso del pañal definitivamente. Así que pañales o entrenadores (pull-ups) no deben ser enviados a la escuela. No es la responsabilidad de la escuela entrenar al niño(a). Por propósitos de higiene, los niños que tengan un accidente en su ropa durante el día escolar, tendrán que cambiarse de ropa ellos mismos. Si el niño(a) no puede hacerlo por él/ella mismo(a), se le llamará a los padres para que vengan a asearlos o a recoger al niño(a). Por favor ayúdenos a que su hijo(a) tenga un cambio de ropa extra en la escuela y proporcione números de teléfonos actualizados en donde se le pueda localizar en el caso de que sea necesario.Después de tres incidentes, se observó que su hijo(a) no es entrenado ir al baño. Les agradecemos por adelantado su cooperación en este asunto.
