We mainly had great weather during the birding activities among the mountains, cloud forest and part of the rainforest. We have found several mixed flocks according elevation and habitats. In general birds were mainly active during early morning and part of the afternoon. We did not find any complication for birding, we had some rain during late afternoon which it did not interfere our birding activities. We have seen some really nice and rare species such as: Crimson-bellied Woodpecker (second time for Omar), Black Tinamou, Yellow-Crested Tanager, Lyre-tailed nightjar displaying, Black-backed Tody-flycatcher (endemic) among others species. Day 1: According our schedule, we had meet at the bus station and we went for breakfast before our birding adventure. Then we drove straight to Huacarpay Andean Lagoon to explore the area for targets species. After the lagoon we drove into the road to Paucartambo Village for lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch we started to drive into the popular road (Manu on the Qosñipata valley), we arrived to Acjanaco Pass where Manu National Park begins. It was really foggy and raining all the way down road to Cock of the Rock Lodge our destination for today. But we have seen some great birds even with the rain: Golden-headed Quetzal (4 males), Crested Quetzal (2 males) and Andean Potoo, Day 2: The weather was perfect, clean sky and sun shining. We started early morning to search our first mixed flock. Then we drove for 40 minutes up road and we started to walk down scanning the forest along the road. The morning was amazing we have seen several tanagers, barbet, toucanet, woodcreepers, Spinetails, solitary Eagle, Euphonias, cock of the rock and After lunch we have been to lower side of the road for other species. And just before dinner we have visit the popular spot for Lyre-tailed nightjar which we have seen very well. Day 3: We started early morning, but in this opportunity we drove down road to explore different elevation and habitat for other species. We have found some rainforest mixed flock by Chontachaca Village and at almost mid-day we spotted the Peruvian endemic and bamboo specialist: Black-backed Tody-Flycatcher. When we were driving back to our lodge we have found two cute Ornate Flycatchers displaying near a creek along the road. After the impressive view of this flycatcher we went for our lunch to the lodge. After lunch we started our birding drive up road to Wayqecha station at almost 3000 m. we have found on the way the usually mixed flocks, Andean Potoo was at the same place, after some hours driving and birding we finally arrived into our last birding spot for this trip. Day 4: We started with a nice sunrise which we enjoyed from our room balcony. After breakfast we started to explore along the road and we had a really great surprise, a White-tailed deer crossing the road then some of our first bird for the day was: Tufted Tit-tyrant and just after 4 red-crested Cotinga foraging. Then we drove after the second tunnel as usually we find several mixed flocks. After our excellent full morning birding along the road we back for lunch to the station. We mainly had great weather during the birding activities among the mountains, cloud forest and part of the rainforest. We have

found several mixed flocks according elevation and habitats. In general birds were mainly active during early morning and part of the

afternoon. We did not find any complication for birding, we had some rain during late afternoon which it did not interfere our birding

DAY 5: We did an early birding after the second tunnel before we back to Cusco. We have found again a group of mixed flocks and

we had better view of some species that we did not get great views before. Then we started our drive back to Cusco city, after some

hours driving just before Paucartambo village we have found two Peruvian endemics: Creamy-crested Spinetail and Chestnut-

breasted Mountain-Finch. After that we spent a little time at Huacarpay Lake before we drove straight to Cusco airport.

Many thanks to choose PBT and for a great birding experience along the Manu road. We hope to meet you again in the future!
