IR30 – Data Acquisition

2003 Ingersoll-Rand Company Date of Issue: March 2003

SHOCK PULSE DATA ACQUISITION

NIRVANA COMPRESSOR

Shock Pulse data acquisition procedure is the same for either model of Nirvana. Two points will be measured: • Male Rotor, thrust end

(MR1)

• Male Rotor, motor end (MR2)

DBI Data

Unit Size (KW/HP) DBI - MR1 DBI - MR2 37/50 & 45/60 29 29

55/75 & 75/100 26 26 90/125 - 150/200 25 25

75/100 - 150/200 (2-stage) 25 25 The hand held probe can be used. Should you so desire, the housing can be drilled and tapped for the shock pulse studs using the countersink tool 39262993, M-10 tap, and the studs furnished in Kit 42464602. Procedure: With the compressor pressure set point in any position from 90 to 145 PSI, set the compressor control to “Fixed Speed”. The compressor will now range in speed from 5,400 to 4,750 RPM for the 60 HP, 3,500 to 2,925 RPM for the 100 HP, 3,000 to 2,380 RPM for the 200 HP and 2,900 to 2,300 RPM for the 200-2S. While this speed fluctuation may seem like a lot, it affects Decibel Initial values by only one point. Trend the delta between dBc and dBm to foresee oncoming issues. Set DBI in the instrument, and acquire data in the normal manual manner outlined in APDD 741 or APDD 766A.
