Dear families,
It has come to our attention that we have a lot of unexpected foot traffic in our hallways, classrooms, and building facilit ies after school hours. Due to the safety concerns for the limited number of staff members present in the building after hours please be advised that no one will be permitted to access classrooms and hallway space after 4:00 p.m. on school days without first receiving permission by completing a building use form. If your child happens to forget something at school please make arrangements to come back to the building before our office hours end at 4:00 p.m.
Dear Maple Fam ilies,
The Fall Scholastic Bookaneer Book Fair: Where books are the Treasure! is coming to Maple beginning Wednesday, Oct ober 26t h ? Tuesday, Novem ber 1st . Students will come to the fair during their regular library time and will also be allowed to shop during recess on Tuesday if they are purchasing books. Fam ilies can visit t he fair dur ing our Fam ily Event s on Wednesday, Oct . 26t h and Tuesday, Nov. 1st dur ing Conferences f rom 4:30 pm - 8:15 pm . Please spend some time looking at the attached Book List. This is only a sample of the many books that will be available. Visit our Fair to make your selections in person or visit our Book Fair Hom epage for more info on events and activities at http://www.scholastic.com/bf/maplelibrary If you?re all booked up during Book Fair week, be sure to visit the Book Fair Online at www.scholastic.com/schoolbookfairs (there is also a link on the homepage).
The online Fair:
- allows your child to send wish lists, inviting family to participate in the Book Fair.- offers an expanded book selection, great gifts, and popular series sets.- is available for an extended time: 10/24/16 t o 11/4/16.
During book fair we have an opportunity to bring more books to our students and classrooms with the All for Books program. We will again be having our ?Coin Wars? ? Ladies vs. Buccaneers where the girls are once again the reigning champs. Here is how it will work: All silver coins and dollars count for your team. Bring pennies in a separate bag to put in the opposite bank to count against their total. Coin Wars will begin on Wednesday, October 26th and end on Tuesday, Nov. 1st. All of the money collected goes to the All for Books program so that we can purchase more books for our school! Scholastic Book Fairs will match the All for Books dollars we raise with a donation of up to one m il l ion books for their non-profit organizations devoted to improving reading skills among children. These organizations are Kids In Need Foundation, Reader to Reader, Inc., and the National Center for Families Learning. Please send in your coins with your child to deposit in the banks at the beginning of the school day, outside of the library door.
Also, stop by the Classroom Wish List display while visiting our Book Fair. We are busy building up each classroom library by adding new books. Help add books to classroom shelves by purchasing books and donating them to your child?s class!
We have planned an event packed with fun. Come to our Bookaneer Book Fair where books truly are the treasure! Everyone is invited! We will have great books, guessing games and more! Thank you for all you do to help and support our school! See you at the Bookaneer Book Fair!
