Experience Iceland’s Northern Lights and MoreJoin the Hudson Valley Ski Club on an adventure to Iceland to experi-ence the Northern Lights from October 3-9, 2020. You’re on your way to Iceland, a land and culture forged by fire and ice. Where steaming lava fields and massive glaciers sculpt mountains and valleys, leaving thundering waterfalls and plunging fjords.
In this land of many natural wonders, enjoy the rare opportunity to see the aurora borealis — one of nature’s most dazzling light displays, also known as the northern lights. All for less than $3000!
The trip includes round trip transportation to Newark Airport, roundtrip flights, hotel accommodations, guided sightseeing, and meals (break-fast and dinner).
Deposit deadline is April 3rd, 2020. Please contact Nonie Kelley at (914) 443-9163 or [email protected], for details.

Greetings folks, I am back from my hiatus in Florida and Jackson Hole. Terry and I have seen a menagerie of Mother Nature’s finest creatures, from silver back gorillas and white rhinos at Disney’s Animal Kingdom to bison and elk in Yellowstone.
The club has seen successful trips to Jackson Hole, Killington and Mt Snow in January and February. March trips include Val D’ls-ere, France; Park City, Utah; and Gore, NY. I hope many of you have had the opportunity to experience one or more of these club sponsored trips. A lot of work goes into organizing and run-ning these trips. Many thanks to trip chairperson Jim Gahn and the trip leaders for their tireless efforts on your behalf to bring the best ski trip experience they can.
Elections will be held in April for all officers and two of the four Directors. Together as the governing body of the club, the Board of Directors oversees the day to day operations of your club to ensure it continues providing you the members with the best or-ganization they can. I am asking you to please consider running for office. The current Board has many veteran volunteers that have given more than their fair share of time and effort for the club. Without new blood a body gets old and tired. We need a transfusion. Please contact Sue Eschbach, Nominating Chair, to get on the ballot.
If being an officer is not your thing, consider a Chair position on one of our standing committees. Again, veteran volunteers have being doing work for you for many years and would be happy to pass along their knowledge and experience to a new volunteer.
Check out the well written articles in addition to the many upcom-ing events and activities featured on the following pages.
Have a safe and Happy Saint Patrick’s Day.

WOW! What great trips so far this season… Jackson Hole, Killington, Mt. Snow. And the season still has more to offer. ’Wednesdays-On-Snow’ continues at our regional ski resorts. Enjoy a day with friends on the slopes.
Wed., March 4 at Jiminy Peak - $39.95 Potter Bros. ticket Wed., March 11 at Hunter Mtn - $54.95 Potter Bros. ticket
‘Wednesdays-on-Snow’ is all about sharing good times with friends and club members (and guests). Each Wednesday we try to schedule a day trip to one of the ski resorts within the greater Hudson Valley for the sole purpose of skiing with friends. Individ-ual skiing/snowboarding skills may vary considerably, so what!
On Wednesdays-On-Snow we are there just to have fun, enjoy the camaraderie, and the thrill of skiing within nature’s gift of snow.
Wednesdays–On–Snow
Sundays–On–SnowOur ski club recognizes that there must also be trips scheduled for weekends to accommodate work schedules. For this reason we now offer Sundays–On–Snow.
This program provides an opportunity for members to bring family and friends to share that same exhilaration and fun.
Why Sunday? Two reasons: there are typically fewer people skiing on Sundays as compared to Saturdays, and, there are more discount lift tickets available for Sundays, making the ski day more of a bargain.
If your work schedule doesn’t allow you to take time off during the week, then this program is for you. Join our group on these Sunday trips for a great day of skiing together:
Sun., March 1 at Windham Mt. - $53.95 Potter Bros ticket Sun., March 8 at Belleayre Mt. - $59.95 Potter Bros ticket Sun. March 15 at Gore Mt. Ticket price TBD. Carpooling possible.
Check our Facebook page and website to see where we will be each Wednesday and Sunday, and come enjoy a great day of skiing with friends. We suggest that you sign-up for the days you want to attend so that we know whom to expect.
Come join us and... Never Ski Alone!
Contact Herb Eschbach for meeting times and place, or possible carpooling. @ [email protected] or (845) 373-9138.
