Alpha Kappa PsiThe Premier Developer of Principled Business Leaders

Alpha Kappa Psi is the premier developer of principled

business leaders. We work to develop members of our

organization to become the future business leaders of the

world. Our network is wide reaching and enables us to have

many resources with which to benefit our members and

partners. Working with Alpha Kappa Psi will enable LVMPC to

gain a foothold in a very large WVU student market and

especially the College of Business & Economics where most

of our resources are placed. We have about 60 members

currently and are working on plans to greatly increase this

number in the upcoming spring semester. Working with us

will give LVMPC the chance to grow brand awareness, which

is an essential part of growing funds and client base. Alpha

Kappa Psi can deliver this brand awareness by putting your

brand name on every event we hold as well as using our

social media outreach to promote your organization and its

goals. Creating a strong social media presence is essential to

raising funds and growing brand awareness in todays

Internet driven global business environment.

Page 3: Marketing Case Competition

Brand awareness is just one aspect of a partnership with Alpha

Kappa Psi. Our members are always looking for opportunities to get

involved and give back to community. Our organization requires a

certain number of community service hours to be achieved in order to

retain membership. Part of this community service could be starting a

business literacy course through your organization that has AKPsi

members teaching learners how to develop themselves professionally.

This would consist of Resume help, LinkedIn workshops, Professional

Dress seminars, and practice interview sessions with feedback. These

courses could be of great help to your ESL clients looking to learn

English and work in industry here in the US. Learning American

business culture can be tricky and can make the difference between

being hired or not when struggling with the English language. It would

also be of great help to low-income earners who struggle to find a new

job once one is lost.

Overall, a partnership between AKPsi and LVMPC would very

beneficial to both organizations. We would be able to raise brand

awareness for both organizations and show the importance of giving

time and money back to the community. We would also be able to help

improve the chances of your clients finding a job through professional

business classes tailored towards improving personal brand and

American Business practices.

The Rubber UVision Statement for fundraising with the Rubber UThe Rubber U is a sales/marketing organization based in Morgantown,

WV that holds multiple events in collaboration with local Morgantown

venues. Their venues allow for the Rubber U application to give

discounts at their locations, as well as hosting events for fundraising,

recreation, and business. One of the very successful opportunities to

fundraise that have been done in the past were the Rubber U’s

extremely popular Bar crawls. Fit with a great theme these have been

extremely popular to students who enjoy them, as well as beneficial to

fundraising efforts. Live music, DJ’s, and specials at these venues bring a

multitude of people to these events, and really make fundraising

opportunities possible. These events bring upwards of 500 people to

register and participate. Very little marketing costs are spent, and the

turnout far outweigh these. The Country Roads bar crawl, paying

homage to West Virginia, was no short feat of this.

At $8.25 per ticket with 400 spots filled it accumulated $3,200 just

off of these sales

With an additional $5 per last minute registration with 100 spots

filled, this accumulated $500

Page 5: Marketing Case Competition

That isn’t even considering the amount of fundraising money that

could be made at the actual events with parts of sales going to the

organization.

At a Stand Up For Sudan event, hosted by the International

Business Club and the Rubber U, all specials made $1 off of

each personalized drink bought towards the fundraiser. This

raised $1307.88 in one night at one venue.

With a low marketing costs of flyers (7 to 10 cents per flyer

using the WVU Mountainlair and print 500 flyers), which

estimates to $25.00.

The budgeting costs of $50.00 (Overestimated for any possible

last minute things) with a potential profit of 4,957.88

If 25% of this were donated to LVMPC, that would be a profit of

1,239.47 with minimal effort by LVMPC

If 50% of this were donated to LVMPC, that would be a profit of

2,478.94

If 75% of this were donated to LVMPC, that would be a profit of

3,718.41

With a fundraising event to be spoken about, The Rubber U could

personalize and set up an event to really accommodate the needs of

LVMPC.
