May 2020 Extension’s motto has long been based on “people helping people”, by interacting directly with others one-on-one or in group settings, however we all have a new norm of interacting by social distancing in order to stay well. At this time we continue to work from home, at least through May 15th, staying in touch with you through Zoom meetings, FaceBook, Instagram and other social media outlets as well as the traditional email, phone, mail, and text.
You will continue to find many interactive FaceBook posts on our San Juan County 4-H page with judging classes, 4-H activities, educational videos, informational links and webinars, as well as many other resources to help you stay engaged and informed.
Requested 4-H project materials are being mailed directly to members so that you can begin your project work at home. On-line projects continue to be emailed to families via Google Docs. Reach out to the project leaders listed in the newsletter with your specific questions or contact Zane to discuss livestock projects. Shelly can assist you with home economics or general project related questions as you prepare your fair exhibits. The 4-H indoor rules, classes and pre-registration form are posted on our county website shown above and on the San Juan County Fair website.
Unfortunately our usual face-to-face summer 4-H events and activities, that were scheduled through the first week of August, will not be taking place this year. However at this time the San Juan County Fair Board is planning for the fair, which will begin with 4-H indoor entries on August 8th and livestock entering the fair grounds on August 9th. The fair board and barn superintendents will handle the fair livestock tag-ins on the dates listed below. Hope to SEE you at the fair!
