GENERAL MANAGER'S NOTE

Dear Friends,So often I find myself thinking that I’m lucky to live here in the Pacific Northwest. Our region is so rich with the vibrant culture of its citizens, and it’s that heritage that lends a flavor all our own to how we live our lives as Washingtonians.

May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, and I encourage you to make the most of your time at home by watching the many Asian American history docu-mentaries and specials we have airing throughout the month.

On May 21 starting at 7pm, KBTC will air ASIAN AMERICANS, a new five-part documentary series that examines the significant role of Asian Americans in shaping American history and identity, from the first wave of Asian immigrants in the 1850s and identity politics during the social and cultural turmoil of the twentieth century to modern refugee crises in a glob-ally connected world. Told through individual lives and personal histories, ASIAN AMERICANS explores the impact of this group on the country’s past, present, and future.

We are proud to share this important series with you, and to deepen understanding about the extraordinary impact of Asian Americans on our national identity.

DeAnne Hamilton
