• Business Ethics:• Infosys has disclosed a code of ethics for its finance professionals and a whistle blower’s

policy to encourage and protect employees, willing to share information on frauds, but who choose to remain unidentified.

• In terms of ethical behavior, Infosys has an unwavering commitment to best global practices and has been driven by its vision to become a global player. It was one of the 1st Indian public companies to adopt voluntarily the US GAAP.

• Mission:-• In 1996, Infosys established the Infosys Foundation to support

the underprivileged sections of society. Infosys contributes 1% of profit after tax to the Foundation for its campaign to improve the welfare of people in rural areas of India.

• At the outset, the Infosys Foundation implemented programs in Karnataka. It subsequently covered Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, and Punjab in a phased manner.

• Key Initiative

• Healthcare:• A majority of Indians in rural areas cannot afford quality

healthcare. According to a study by Price water house Coopers, 20 million people rank below the poverty line every year due to debts incurred from healthcare cost.

• Making high-quality healthcare the norm is an on-going challenge. Since inception in 1996, the Infosys Foundation is making high-quality healthcare accessible to the underprivileged.

• The Foundation has contributed towards the purchase of ambulances, incubators, air conditioner units, neonatal resuscitation equipment, drugs and medical facilities to various government hospitals, to the tune of US $10,395,010

• Education:• ‘Library for Every Rural School’, the Foundation set up over 40,000

school libraries at cost of approx. US $1,039,501 in Karnataka, which largest rural education program in the country.

• They has been donating computers (over 5000 computer since 1997), is intended to fuel the digital revolution at the grassroots-level powering assess to knowledge and information.

• This Foundation also conducts a “Teachers Training Program” in rural area.

• Culture:• India has a rich heritage of art, literature and music. Ancient art

forms can be passed down from generation to generation only when the skills of artists are frequently showcased in public.

• The Infosys Foundation sustains several art forms.

• Rural Development :• The primary challenge of development in rural India is the skills

deficit of the local population. Education and vocational training help villagers earn a sustainable livelihood.

• The Infosys Foundation donated US$ 6.8 million towards relief and rehabilitation of flood-affected districts of Karnataka.

• In 2011, The Foundation constructed 3000 homes for flood victims in Belgaum, Gulbarga, Dharwad, Gadag, Bagalkot, Bijapur and Karwar in Karnataka.

• In the last 15 years, thousands have benefited with the Foundation’s support and aid amounting to over US $8,316,008.

our information security initiatives.• Workforce comprises employees representing

89 nationalities.• Over 1,53,000 students were trained as part of

the Campus connect program.• Women comprise 34.7% of total workforce.

across campuses in 2012.• They pioneered the first commercial radiant

cooled building in India.• Planted about 46,000 trees in 2012.• They have over 500 active eco volunteers
