MCA Announcements Join us in Welcoming our New Instructors!

Winter Weather is Upon Us If the weather takes a turn for the worse, make sure to check our Facebook page, Twitter feed and your emails for Winter Weather Closing information. When in doubt, our general rule of thumb is if the Winona Area Public Schools close early or cancelled, MCA will be closed as well.

Congratulations! Congratulations to Ballet instructor, Erin Gollnik, on her recent marriage to Jason Balsamo. We would like to wish Erin and Jason well on a long and happy marriage!

Students of the Month

Kudos to MCA’s September Student of the Month, Christine Kowalski! Christine is a Clogging II student who has demonstrated dedication to her dance class by attending each class on time and prepared. Great work, Christine! Congratulations to MCA’s October Students of the Month Dot Armstrong and Mackaylee Kohner! These students present strong work ethic, a positive attitude, leadership, good attendance and progress within their classes. Wonderful work this month!

MCA extends a warm welcome to our newest Music Division adjunct faculty members, Matthew Byrnes and Markeise Russell. Matthew will be teaching beginning piano, guitar and banjo lessons. Markeise will be teaching advanced piano and all levels of saxophone. We are very happy to add these talented instructors to the MCA family.

The “Pirate Ballet” is Coming!

The ballet Le Corsaire, loosely based on a poem by Lord Byron, follows Medora, a beautiful slave girl, and Conrad, a dashing pirate, as they journey through a tapestry of captive maidens, rich sultans, swashbuckling abductions, and dramatic rescues—all culminating in a happy ending. Originally choreographed by Marius Petipa to music by Adolfe Adam, Le Corsaire continues to delight audiences more than 150 years after its premiere. Dance Repertory Company Le Corsaire Auditions Friday, Jan. 20, 2012 at 4:00 pm, Valéncia Arts Center **For intermediate and advanced dance students ages 13 and up (for younger students by invitation only).
