I also used Photoshop to crop the image and used curves in Photoshop to change The contrast of the image. I then used the blur tool and spot healing brush to remove Imperfections and clear her skin much like a front cover of a professional magazine.

Looking back at my preliminary task (the school magazine task), I feel that I have learnt a lot in the progression from it to the full product

I feel I have learnt a lot in the progression because I really analyzed other music magazine covers before producing my magazine so I could make my magazine look more realistic looking and get inspiration from other magazines. I also used Photoshop to edit and develop the photos for my magazine cover, spread page and contents page. I also developed my Photoshop techniques. I also improved the layout of the text and choosing the right colours and fonts for the text.

Improvements between preliminary cover and final cover

The cover of my music magazine is much more professional than my preliminary school magazine cover.

The black background contrasts with the photograph of the girl and the writing is more visible.

How I attracted my audienceTo attract my target audience to read my music magazine over other magazines I included various unique selling points (USP)

I included exclusive interviews and an interview with the cover girl. I also included information on the hottest festivals and parties and used a popular music artist (Axwell).

I also used colours which would attract the target age group.
