Explain the different types of music video using examples of images and your own research.

Performative 

Chris brown - Loyal ft. Lil wayne, tyga

This is an example of a performative music video because it has several choreographed dance routines. 

I personally like this shot in the music video because it enables the viewer to see whats happening in the video from a different angle. 

 

This is another shot example from Chris Brown loyal. I also like this long angle shot because it emphasises the height of the people who are in the shot. 

Narrative 

Bobby V - Slow down

This is an example of an narrative music video because the lyrics match the music video, which is telling a story.  

I personally like this shot because it is showing close up of a street name. However, its also showing a car. I like the concept of merging two different ideas into one frame. 

This frame is also an inspiration to me because its a close up shot of the side of the artist face. However, the viewer is able to see the reflection of a character. This helps enhances the storyline.

Abstract 

Katy Perry - Unconditionally 

This is a form of an abstract music video, because it doesn't relate to what the song is saying.    

I personally like the editing in this frame because it has spark falling from the sky which is an interesting concept. The colour of the sparks are the same colour as the artist dress. This could represent the personas personality that the artist is creating in her music video. 

I also like the concept of snow falling in a ball room. This could represent how the character is feeling whist dancing. I also like the hair which is an indicator to the era that the music video is set in.
