Re-electing Kathleen

Kathleen and her family have been Algonquin residents for over 17 years.  She has two children who currently attend D300 schools and a son who graduated from Jacobs High School in 2012. Kathleen attended the University of Cincinnati and was operating partner for a cutting tools distributor until relocating to Illinois in 1991. She currently attends Judson University Full-time as a communications major.

Kathleen has been a committed volunteer for many years, both in and out of the school district.  In D300, she was president of deLacey's Parent-Teacher group, community co-chair for the 2006-07 Attendance Boundary Committee, and was a member of the school improvement team for deLacey and Neubert Elementary, the Jacobs High School Athletics Booster Club, CORE (Citizen's Organized for Responsible Education), CORE4kids, and led various playground construction committees.  In the community, Kathleen was a Girl Scout troop leader for nine years as well as a den leader for six years and committee chair for Cub Scout Pack 368. Kathleen was a community representative on the D300 Board Legislative Committee since its inception in 2011 and now serves as co-chair.  As a parent, she was actively supportive of the district in fall 2011 during the community campaign against the Sears EDA, making numerous personal trips to Springfield to work directly with state legislators.
