WELCOMEAFTER THE SUCCESS OF LAST YEAR’S INAUGURAL DAY-NIGHT TEST MATCH, WE WELCOME YOU BACK TO ADELAIDE OVAL FOR ANOTHER HISTORIC FIXTURE BETWEEN AUSTRALIA AND SOUTH AFRICA.

We strongly believe that day-night Test cricket is here to stay and cricket fans voted with their feet last summer as 47,441 people flocked to Adelaide Oval on day 1 to witness the world-first fixture, breaking a number of attendance records along the way.

The total match attendance of 123,736 people over three days made it the highest non-Ashes attendance in Adelaide Oval’s history.

The attendance figure was higher than the sum of the previous 10 days of Test cricket between Australia and New Zealand.

SOUTH AUSTRALIAN FIXTURESCOMMONWEALTH BANK TEST SERIESAustralia v South Africa 24 November – 28 November, 2016

Gates open: Days 1-3 12.00noon Day 4 12.30pm Day 5 1.00pm

VICTORIA BITTER ONE DAY INTERNATIONAL SERIESAustralia v Pakistan 26 January, 2017, 1.50pm (local time)

COMMONWEALTH BANK WOMEN’S INTERNATIONAL SERIESAustralia v New Zealand 13 February, 2017, 1.35pm (local time)

KFC T20 INTERNATIONAL SERIESAustralia v Sri Lanka 13 February, 2017, 7.20pm (local time)

These are incredible numbers and a glowing endorsement of the day-night concept, which may prove to be as significant as the advent of World Series Cricket back in 1978.

Australia and South Africa have enjoyed a fierce rivalry during the past decade and this fixture will be no different, as South Africa take on the pink ball for the very first time.

On behalf of Adelaide Oval and the South Australian Cricket Association, welcome back to Adelaide and we hope you enjoy our city and our oval – we believe it is the best cricket ground in the world.

Kind Regards,

Keith BradshawSACA Chief Executive
