SPREADING INSTRUCTIONS:ECONOMICAL – SSS Ice Melter is concentrated so only a small amount is needed to effectively melt ice and snow. Spread evenly at the rate of 1 cup per square yard. Shovel off resulting excess slush and water, then reapply to heavy areas of ice. Do not overspread. To avoid damage, apply evenly and avoid piling.

HOW AND WHEN TO USE:SLEET OR FREEZING RAIN – Apply early to prevent ice build-up.

WET / HEAVY SNOW – When more than two inches accumulate, plow or shovel excess snow and slush away before reapplying SSS Ice Melter .

LARGE ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW – Any time the snowfall amounts to more than two inches, plow or shovel first. Then spread SSS Ice Melter to melt the stubborn layer of ice or hardpacked snow that remains.

CAUTION: CONCRETE AND OTHER SURFACESAlong with the severity of weather, the age, quality and curing of concrete can all increase the potential for surface damage. When used as directed, SSS Ice Melter will not harm good quality, air entrained concrete for cold weather climates. If unsure as to the quality of your surface, consult a concrete professional. Avoid the use of this or any other ice melter on questionable surfaces or: on stone or brick; masonry; precast steps; wood; or concrete that is less than one year old, has exposed aggregate, is precast, prestressed, chipped, cracked, spalled, or weathered.Poor quality surfaces may not withstand the stress associated with cycles of freezing and thawing that can be accelerated with ice melter use. The potential for surface damage can be decreased by sealing surfaces or by removing slush that results from melting. (However, the hazards associated with slippery surfaces must be weighed against the potential for surface damage.)

CAUTION: HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED – KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN SSS Ice Melter contains potassium chloride. If swallowed, give water or milk. Induce vomiting and call a physician immediately.

SSS Ice Melter Magnesium Chloride stays where it is applied. It has the combined characteristics of a pellet and a flake, producing a crystal shape which has the mass to pull itself through the ice and snow while dissolving quickly for the fastest melting action.
