About the IGGA The International Grooving & Grinding Association (IGGA) is a professional organization that promotes the use of grooving and diamond grinding of highways, airports, municipal streets, rural roads, parking areas, sidewalks, industrial floors and other surfaces constructed with Portland cement concrete or asphalt concrete.
The mission of the International Grooving & Grinding Association (IGGA) is to serve as the leading promotional and technical resource for acceptance and proper use of diamond grinding and grooving as well as PCC preservation and restoration markets. For more information, visit www.igga.net
Members of the IGGA include:

manufacturers and suppliers• Contractors• Consultants• Associates• Government officials/agencies
The IGGA represents its members through a broad range of activities including:
• Promotion of pavement repair strategies to local agencies including state Department of Transportation officials, consulting engineers, municipal and county government officials, academia and airport owners.

• Development of guidelines and specifications for concrete pavement restoration methodologies, working with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), and other agencies and organizations.
• Regular board meetings to keep members involved and informed of the latest developments of international, national and local significance including design standards, quality issues and market trends.
The IGGA offers a range of products and services to members including:
• Technical bulletins, engineering publications and special reports
• Promotional literature, slides and materials• Diamond blade usage reports• Promotion and publicity on projects

History of the IGGA
The grooving and grinding industry evolved from experimental applications of diamond saw blades and equipment. The industry can be traced back to the late 1940’s when a single diamond blade was first used on a concrete saw to groove pavement. Since that early tentative step, grooving, grinding and texturing with diamond blades has developed into what is today a multi-million dollar industry that is literally practiced around the world.
The International Grooving & Grinding Association was incorporated in Lakewood, California in June of 1972. IGGA’s inception was largely due to the inspiration and driving force of Lester Kuzmick who envisioned an organization that could advance the collective interest of contractor
members. IGGA has served as an industry focal point and promoting entity for the ensuing 47 years.
In 1995, the IGGA joined in affiliation with the American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) and in 2012 formed the IGGA / ACPA Concrete Pavement Preservation Partnership (IGGA / ACPA CP3). Today their partnership serves as the technical resource and industry representative in the marketing of optimized pavement surfaces, concrete pavement restoration and pavement preservation around the world.
