The MIC enters its 13thyear as Europe’s premieryouth tournament, and itpromises to be even big-ger and better than previ-ous years.

Elite shall be entering for athird time, travelling withplayers born from 1997-2002.

The MIC’s alumni is testa-ment to the quality of thetournament, with the likesof Lionel Messi, Cesc Fab-regas, Gerard Pique, JuanMata, Anderson, LucasLeiva and the Da Silvabrothers all featuring in thetournament during theirrise through youth football.

The tournament openseach year at Palamos sta-dium, where each club pa-rades their club flagaround the stadium. Theceremony concludes with

the hosts, Palamos FC,facing the Brazil nationalteam in the Class A com-petition after the openingceremony.

Past patrons of the tourna-ment include Pep Guardi-ola, Ronaldo andRonaldinho, this yearpromises to have anotherfamous football name.

On Wednesay 27th Marchthe opening ceremony willtake place at Palamos Sta-dium, which will be followedby the opening game. Thisgame is usually betweenPalamos FC and BrazilUnder 18’s.

Last year, Elite DC wasseated next to Inter Milan’sAcademy during the cere-mony, and several of ourplayers were involved in theopening parade, proudlycarrying the Union Jackaround the pitch alongsideplayers from the likes ofAjax, Southampton FC andSouth Korea.

This years tournament isexpecting another batch oftop class entrants, with theorganisers revealing somevery high calibre sides willbe in attendance in theclasses we have entered.

Each team is entered into a fourteam group, and depending ontheir results will progress to a con-solation plate competition or thefinal classification rounds.

Therefore each team is guaran-teed 4 games, and can play amaximum of 7 games in the tour-nament.

All of our squads will play 11-a-side, with games taking place oneither grass or artifical 3G sur-faces.

Classes

As the tournament allowsteams to register twoplayers born from Julybefore the year of theirage class, managementwill be liasing withcoaches and CentreManagers to see if play-ers are of the standard toplay up an age group.

We shall be taking foursquads to compete, oneteam comprised of Under10’s & 11’s, one of Under12’s & 13’s and two rang-ing from Under 14’s to16’s. What team theplayer is in will be depen-dendant on their agegroup. Please see teamclassifications as stated.

Training WeekendWe have used some excellent facilities in previous years, visiting Lille-shall and the Alan Higgs Centre, home to Coventry City’s Academy, andthis year will be no different as we are spending two days at HarlingtonSports Centre.

This superb facility play host to Queens Park Rangers FC, and used tobe the training base of Chelsea FC before their move to Cobham.

Kit

Elite will be supplying players with, not only MIC match kit butwith tracksuit bottoms and a polo shirt to wear whilst travelling,and between games.

This kit is included in the price and will be the players to keepas a memento of the tour. Please refer to the size guide whenordering your sons kit.

CostsInclusive of the cost;

Training weekend- Training at the Harlington Sports Ground, Sipson Lane, Hayes, UB3 5AQ.- Two nights accommodation at the Holiday Inn Express on a full board basis - break-fast, lunch and dinner.

Mediterranean International Cup- Flights from Heathrow or Gatwick to Barcelona on the 26th March.- Entrance into the tournament (Registration per team and per player).- Accommodation in quality hotels on a full board basis (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Play-ers are also provided with water and fruit at all games.- Match day kit and travelling / training kit.- Transfers to and from the hotel to the airport, as well as the stadium and playing fieldseach day.- Nike gift and official t-shirt from the MIC.

We will need players to make their own way to the training weekend atthe beginning of the tour, and they will need be collected on our arrivalback in the UK at Heathrow on 31st of March.

Any excursions that teams undertake will be at an extra cost. We cannotguarantee that teams will have time to do the same activities due to dif-ferences in playing times and locations, so we have left those costs outof the fee.A trip to the Nou Camp, for example, would cost playersaround €25-€30 inclusive of coach travel.

How to bookTo make a booking - The tour works on a first come, first served basis. This year wehave added a second Class B team to the travelling party as therewas so much interest in last years Class B age group. We askplayers to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Following the initial payment to secure your son’s place on thetour, the remainder of the balance can be either paid all up front, orcan be split into seperate amounts.

Elite DC is offering 2 half price places for the MIC 2013.

We want our players to showcase their creative skills and video mak-ing skills by putting together some footage of themselves in action.

We are looking for some sublime skills, or some hilarious goal cele-brations, and the best two video entries we receive will earn a halfprice trip to the most prestigious youth tournament in Europe. Onlytwo playes will be given the half price places, so if a team of you puta video together you will have to decide who gets the place shouldyou be successful.

The top 10 videos will also be showcased on our Vimeo Channel -https://vimeo.com/channels/elitedctv - with the top two earning thatprize to go to the MIC.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

- We must state that Tours are not holidays and although we shall have time toenjoy our stay and the surroundings, players are expected to act as young pro-fessionals.

- All Players are briefed each day and upon arrival on health & safety matters,rules, performance plans, times of meet, lights out, breakfast , lunch & dinnerstimes etc.

- Staff to Player ratios are adhered to, with every team having 2 Head Coaches aswell as several volunteers. Regular head counting takes place on entering andleaving any venue or meeting. One of the aims of the tour is to encourage re-sponsibility and independence.

- A media team will attend tours and use the footage or photographs for our web-sites and literature. If your circumstances have changed from originally signingup and you do not wish for your child to be photographed please contact headoffice.
