Ourrollerdevicesinstructionsforoperationareasfollows:

Note:Therollerdevicemustberolledslowlyandcarefullyatalltimesasitisaheavy

objectthatcouldpotentiallycauseinjurywithcarelessuse.

1.Digashallow,flatrectangularholeondrygroundtothesizeoftheplywoodandthe

heightoftheframesotheframeisflushwiththeground.

2.Placetheplywoodbaseandframepieceinthehole.

3.Filltheframepiecewiththecharcoal/casavaporridgemixturetonearlythetopedgeof

theframe.

4.Placetheplatformpieceontopoftheporridgemixture,allowingittositaboutlevelwith

thetopedgeoftheframe.

5.Rolltherolleratopthewoodplatformtocompressthecharcoal.Thiscanbedone

multipletimesbothwaystomakesurethecharcoalisfullycompressed.

6.Rolltherolleroffofthecharcoalandsetitaside.

7.Removethewoodandropepartfromatopthecharcoalandsetitasideforlateruse

8.Takeaknifeorothersharpobjectandcarefullycutthebriquettesmanuallytothedesiredsize.Removethebriquettesandsetthemasidetodry

9.Oncedry,yourbriquettesarereadyforuse.

Step-by-StepConstruction

Oncethematerialsaregathered,theusermaynowproceedtoconstructthe

device.Byfollowingthesesteps,theuserwillhaveafullyfunctionalcharcoalroller

press.

ConstructingRollerDevice:

Fortherollerpressdevice,thematerialsforpartnumbers1,5,6,and8willbe

required.

Step1:DrillHolesinBarrel

Usingadrill,createholesinthetopandbottomofthebarrelinthecenterof

thebarrel,creatingaperfectsealalongthecircumferenceoftheshaftwhere

theshaftandbarrelcomeincontact.

Step3:Constructinghandle

Usingasaw,takethe2x4lumberandcut3piecesof1meterlonglumber.

Usingyourdrill,createholes(ofdiameter45mminoneendand42diameter

intheother)in2ofthesepieces.Theseholesaretobepositionedapprox.5.0

cmawayfromtheendsofthe2x4.Withyourholesmade,attachtheendof

yourhandlepiecewiththe45mmholetotheconnectingshaft(shaftinserted

throughyourbarrel).Movethehandleapprox.3cmfromtheendofthe

connectingshaft.Securethisinplacebydrillingthroughtheconnectingshaft

(withametaldrillbit)andinserttheboltthroughthisholetopreventthe

handlefromslippingoffoftheshaft.NOTE:Theholemadeintheconnecting

shaftwillhavetobesamesizeasthebolt.Repeatthisstepfortheothersideoftheshaft.NOTE:Noticethatthe45mmholesareslightlybiggerthanthe

connectingshaft.Thisdiameterdifferenceistoallowthebarrelandshaftto

rotateandallowthehandletomovefreely.Intheotherholesatthetopofyour2handlepiecesattachedtoyourbarrel,youmaynowinsertyour

cylindricalhandlepieceintotheseholes.Thiscylindricalhandlepieceof40mmdiametershouldbecuttoapproximately1040mm.Tosecurethe

handleinplace,carpentersgluemaybeused.

PlatformConstruction:

Fortheplatformdevice,thematerialsforpartnumbers7and9willberequired.

Step1:Drillingholesinplatformpiecesandassembly

Withyourplatformpieces(partno.7),youwillneedtodrill3holesinyour

2x4;Oneholeinthecenterandoneateachendofthe2x4s(approx.44mmfromtheend)toenablearopetotravelthroughtoconnecteachpieceofthe

platform.Onceyourholesaremade,tieaknotintheendofeachoftherope,d th th h th h l i il t th tt i d i b

Forthebase,thematerialsforpartnumbers2and3willberequired.Nailsor

screwswillalsoberequiredforthisstep.

Step1:Cuttingandassemblingbase

Withthe2x6lumber,theproperlengthcanbecut.Intwoofthe2x6s,a

lengthof1.5metersshouldbecut,andintheother2pieces,thelumber

shouldbecuttoalengthof0.9meters.Byassemblingthebasesothatitis

similartodrawingnumber10,thebaseisnowreadytobeputintothe

ground.

Step2:Holeinground

Sincethebaseisabout5andahalfinchesoffthegrounditcanbedifficultto

rolltherollerintotheplatform,tosolvethisproblemtheusercandigaholeroughly

aroundtheheightofthebasepieces.Thiswaytheusermayrolethebarrelsmoothlyovertheplatform.
