MondayActivity 1 – Scavenger HuntVideo - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpPGCF-SDEkDescription:Please watch the video above first. This activity will help your child to gather important items needed for the other tasks planned throughout the week. Items that must be gathered during this activity:

Activity 2 - Go for walk in the woods:Your child could go for a nice walk in a forest near your home with a parent/guardian. They can report back on what they have seen or take a photo and share with the class via Google Classroom.

Your child does not need everything off the list, and they must have permission from a parent/guardian. Take a photo or video and upload via Google Classroom. Here are some resources needed:

Activity 4 - Marble Run:Explore the rules of physics and gravity by having a go at creating your own marble run out of equipment you have in the house or garden. The best thing about making your own marble run is that there are no rules at all. The aim of the game is to take your marble on an adventure through an imaginative assault course, using just gravity as ‘fuel’. You could use things such as toilet roll tubes, plastic bottles, egg cartons, tin foil, or anything else you can find lying around! If you do not have a marble you could use a ping-pong ball, a tennis ball or roll up a piece of tin foil to make a ball.

Activity 5 – Mini Raft BuildingVideo - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ll7vSVBhYAEDescription:Please watch the video above first. Your child will try to build a mini raft in their garden, and it must stay afloat for 1 minute. Take a photo or video of their raft floating. The following resources are needed:

Tuesday

Your child be will creating their own story characters using sticks. Take a picture or video of their final product and upload to google classroom. The following resources will be required:

Activity 2 - Time a bed change:One of the first things you usually have to do at school camp is make your own bed! Your challenge today is to TIME how long it takes you to change your bedsheets (or someone else in your households bedsheets). This includes sheet, pillow covers and duvet cover! Try to do it as quickly as possible, but it must be NEAT. Imagine one of the instructors is coming to do a room inspection- it must be perfect!

Activity 3– Mini PioneeringVideo – https://youtu.be/dnYq2nwKmwQDescription:Please watch the video above first. Your child will be creating their own catapult. Take a picture or a video of their final product and upload to google classroom. The following resources will be needed:

1. 11 sticks – One to be longer than the others.2. Plastic milk carton – Cut in half.3. Lots of rubber bands.

Activity 4 - Make a kite Kites can be made from items such as: plastic bags, paper, baking parchment, sticks, string and ribbon. There are LOADS of videos and tutorials online that show you how it can be done. See if you can have a go at making on and don’t forget to test it out! Make a Kite:

Activity 5 – The Lava ChallengeVideo - https://youtu.be/zHJEMqWvWWcDescription:Please watch the video above. Your child will pretend the floor is lava and they must place items in the garden that they can stand on. They will create an obstacle course and the aim is to get to the finish without standing on the ground. Take a photo or video and upload it onto google classroom. The following items can be used:

1. Chairs2. Cushions3. Wooden blocks4. Stones5. Shoes/trainers6. Any item that can be stood on but is safe to use.

Activity 6 - Long Walk:Usually on camp we would be heading out to the hills for a long walk, learning all about the forest and vegetation as we go. Today, I would like you to head out for a long walk or cycle around your local area or to a nearby park. Track your distance using an app on your phone such as Strava and share your routes. Remember to look up and around instead of down at the ground (or your phone!)- you will be amazed at what you can spot when you are paying attention! If you are walking in the town, you might like to look for art in streets (there is lots of lovely positive art around right now) or try to spot old shop signs and street signs. Take photos of anything interesting you see.

Wednesday

Activity 2 – Build an inside Wigwam

Your child will be making nettle tea and they will need boiling water and some nettle heads. Please ensure you supervise your child during this activity. The following items can be used:

1. Nettle heads – May need to go out and search for them.2. Boiling water – From a kettle.3. Mug and spoon.

Activity 4 - Climb a Tree:

Find a safe tree for your child to climb while being supervised by a parent/guardian. Take a photo of the tree and post it in google classroom.

Alternatively, your child can use their garden hut or create a hut and play in it during the day. The following items can be used:

Activity 6 - Toasting Marshmallows: As part of your Al Fresco dining experience you might be toasting some marshmallows. This activity can be lots of fun but please make sure you do this with an adult present.

Thursday

Your child is going to build a nature reserve in their garden. They will need to select an area of the garden that is grassy and quiet. The following items will be needed:

Activity 2 - Sock Challenge:One of the worst things about camp is having to put those really long socks on under your boots or taking off your wet socks after a day in the water! So, I thought we could have a go at trying to break the world record for the number of socks put on one foot in 30 seconds, which is currently 28!!
