Presentation Day

Our formal Presentation Day

will be held on Friday 9th,

between 9am and 11am.

School leaders will be

announced, Kindergarten will

graduate, Year 6 will leave us,

class awards will be

presented. Students should

wear full formal school

uniform.

Final Scripture and

Ethics Sessions

Our final Scripture and

Ethics lessons for 2016 will

take place on Thursday 8th

December. There will be a

combined Scripture assembly

in the hall at 11.30am. Final

Ethics lessons will take place

in classrooms on this day

also.

Year 6 Farewell and

School Disco

We farewell our Year 6

students on Tuesday 13th,

with a whole school disco,

between 5.30 and

6.30pm. We ask parents to

ensure you collect younger

students promptly at 6.30, in

order to allow teachers to

attend the Year 6 farewell

dinner on time! Year 6 will

enjoy a special dinner at 7pm

at the bowling Club.

Ice blocks are being sold

every lunchtime for 50c.

Welcome to week 9

It is officially end of Term

time. Time to return

recorders to school if you

have borrowed one. Time

to ask Santa to put a

recorder in your Christmas

Stocking if you want to

play next year. Time to

indicate if you are

continuing, or starting

band in 2017. Expressions

of Interest for Band are

available from the office if

you haven’t received one.

If you are in Year 6, it’s

time to return your band

instruments so the next

generation can learn to

play them.

Stop Work Meeting

You may have heard that

The Teachers Federation

is planning a stop-work

meeting on Thursday 8th.

Millthorpe Public School

will be operational on this

day, although there may

be some slight changes to

routine.

Band Party

Mr Dickson is planning a

special last day band party

on Monday 12th,

remember to return books,

instruments and bring

something special to

share.

Markets

The markets were another

wonderful success, thanks

to the hours of hard work

from the Markets

Committee, and the

cooperation of all

volunteers. I received so

many compliments from

visitors about the behaviour

of students. The involvement

of parents and staff members

was appreciated as well.

Raffle Tickets

We have only a small number

of tickets available for the

Millthorpe Fire-Pit raffle.

Tickets are $1 each, they are

available in the office. We are

hoping to draw the raffle at

presentation day assembly.

Send money and note to the

office to go in the draw before

Friday. Enormous thanks to

Alex Brett for the kind

donation.

Christmas Cards

It is really beautiful to see the

children sharing Christmas

cards and best wishes with

their friends. Please avoid the

addition of sweets / candy

canes in cards - it causes

issues for us at school, and

can lead to issues with food

allergy etc. Thanks for

understanding.

Assemblies

Our big end of term

combined assembly will be

full of amazing performances,

awards and presentations. It

will be held on Thursday

15th, between 9am and 11am

(approx.) The rock band will

play, the choir will sing, Little

Big Band will perform, and

the percussion group will

blow your socks off! Final

merits and banners will be

awarded, and everyone will

be happy and we would love

to see you here.

Library News

As the year draws to an end we are asking that

all students return their books to the library,

in order for us to assess damages and missing

books. Please endeavour to search those shelves

at home and return any that are found to the

library as soon as possible.

Chess News

Aiden Bird will be competing in the NSW Under 12 Country

Championships in Sydney on Sunday 11th December! In this

photo Scott McGoldrick and Aiden are getting a bit of extra

tuition! Good luck Aiden!
