This table runner pattern is great for using up those leftover strips

from your other projects. All you need is 2”! You can adjust this

runner to use up different sized strips, just change the measurements

to reflect your new size. For example, if you want to use 2 1/2” strips,

simply change it to 2 1/2” x 2 1/2” square, 2 1/2” x 3”, 2 1/2” x 5”,

and 2 1/2” x 6” for all of the measurements.

Cutting Instructions: From the Light Fabrics cut a total of:

Mini Runner: 20 squares, 2” x 2”

20 rectangles, 2” x 3”

Medium Runner: 30 squares, 2” x 2”

30 rectangles, 2” x 3”

Maxi Runner: 40 squares, 2” x 2”

40 rectangles, 2” x 3”

From the Dark Fabrics cut a total of:

Mini Runner: 20 rectangles 2” x 5”

20 rectangles 2” x 6”

Medium Runner 30 rectangles 2” x 5”

30 rectangles 2” x 6”

Maxi Runner: 40 rectangles 2” x 5”

40 rectangles 2” x 6”

Binding:

Mini Runner: Cut 3 strips 2 1/2” x WOF (width of fabric)

Medium Runner: Cut 4 strips 2 1/2” x WOF

Maxi Runner: Cut 4 strips 2 1/2” x WOF

Piecing Your Runners: (1/4” seam allowance)

For all of the runners, begin by sewing the 2” light squares and the

2” x 6” dark rectangles together. Press towards the rectangles. This is

Unit A.

Continue by sewing the 2” x 3” light rectangles and the 2” x 5” dark

rectangles together. Press towards the dark rectangles. This is Unit B.

Now, lay out your table runner alternating Unit A and Unit B pieces.

For the Mini Runner you will have a total of 20 pieces on each side.

For the Medium Runner you will have a total of 30 pieces on each

side. For the Maxi Runner you will have a total of 40 pieces on each

side. Please refer to the picture for a diagram.

It is helpful to sew your runner together in sets instead of two long

rows. Do this by sewing two or three sections together and then

joining those sections to each other.

Your runner is now ready to be layered with batting and backing.

Quilt it as desired, bind, and enjoy!
