Congregational Care, Stan JohnsonSTEPHEN MINISTRY COMMISSIONING MARCH 17

The First Pres Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confi dential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing diffi culties in their lives. Our Stephen Ministers are children of God with gifts for care giving and have received 50 hours of training in providing emotional and spiritual care. Please be in prayer for new Stephen Ministers Jack DePriester, Judy DePriester, Mary Palmer, Sheila Reeves, and Ann Buchanan, who will be commissioned in our 9:40 and 11:00am services this Sunday, March 17.

WOUNDS THAT HEALBring your pain to the cross. On Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm in Room 225, various speakers highlight the wonderful truth that in spite of our injuries and scars, God has not abandoned us. Through Jesus’ death on the cross, God enters our pain to bring healing and redemption. Join us!

Educational Ministries, Tim LeslieLAST DAYS OF JESUS SEMINAR MARCH 22-23

A Palm Sunday Weekend Seminar, The Last Days of Jesus: The Greatest Story Never Told, is coming to First Pres Fellowship Hall on Friday evening, March 22 (6:00–9:30pm), and Saturday morning, March 23 (9:00am–12:30pm). Teacher Doug Greenwold of Preserving Bible Times will immerse you in the experience of Passion Week from a fi rst-century Jewish villager’s perspective. Cost is $20 per adult ($30 at the door); $35 per couple ($50 at the door); $45 per family ($65 at the door). Evangelism and Missions, Brian StewartDOMINICAN REPUBLIC MISSION TRIP

FPC will be sending a mission team again this year to La Romana, Dominican Republic. The trip dates are June 15-22. The focus this year will be community development, including evangelism, VBS, eye exams, and construction. Medical and dental will be added if care providers register. HOLLIS SPRING CARNIVAL VOLUNTEERS NEEDEDThe Hollis Academy Spring Carnival on Friday, April 26, raises funds for the school PTA. It’s a great opportunity to bring your family and interact with the Hollis community. Two work shifts are available, 3:30–5:30pm and 5:30–7:30pm. Join us on Sunday, March 17, at 6:00pm in Fellowship Hall for the highly anticipated 2013 Music & Arts Dinner Theater. This year’s show will feature the beloved Disney musicals, including Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and many others. Proceeds will help subsidize trips and retreats for our Covenant Choir, Resonate! and Resonate! Prime students. Tickets are on sale now in the Vineyard bookstore.

Grains of Grace is a joint effort between First Presbyterian Church Greenville and Feed My Starving Children to pack 250,000 meals on April 19-20 for developing world. Our challenge is to register 1,200 packing volunteers and raise $55,000 to cover the cost of meals supplies in support of this church-wide missional endeavor.
