1950: Began life as Minnesota Cosmetology Education Center (MCEC)

Founded in a residential home later converted to a school setting

1988: New owners revamped the curriculum to better serve the current salon industry

Focus on sales training, communication, fashion and technical ability

2003: MCEC acquired by Terry and Kaye Myhre

Renamed the institution Minnesota School of Cosmetology

Now located in Woodbury, Minnesota

Our History

MSC is licensed by the Board of Barbers and Cosmetologist Examiners

Esthiology: removing unwanted hair, facials and facial treatments, makeup

Nail technology: manicures, pedicures, artificial nails and nail art

General safety and sanitation procedures

Chemical texturizing procedures including permanent waves and chemical relaxer

Basic and advanced hair coloring theory and hair coloring techniques
