Taking Souls from Hearing to Heaven

If you recognize the two icons at the top of this article, you already know that the world is rapidly changing. We, as Christians, have to make a choice. Do we change with it, or do we get left behind? I don’t mean that we should give up doctrine for the changing world. I mean - Do we, as Christians, adapt to the world in which we live, so that we can take advantage of the new ways in which we may reach the lost? When people tell me that they don’t care to learn computers because they don’t see any use for them, I generally will ask them, “Where is your horse?” Because the Internet has done for cross-culture communication what the automobile did for cross-country travel. Not to poke fun at people who do not use computers, but really... this technology is incredible. It has done wonders for the way that we communicate with the world. It is also one great tool to help spread the Word of God. For instance, I currently teach 3 different classes per week to people from all over the world using SkypeTM. I simply turn my computer on, turn SkypeTM on, click the button that says “contact list”, and then add the people who are in the classes. It is that simple. If you have a computer and a good knowledge of the Word of God, then please let me urge you to utilize this technology. There are people all around the world who would love for someone to teach them the Bible. And if you are patient, and willing to try, you can reach people in China, Malaysia, Brazil, Africa, Europe, ... practically everywhere. Let’s face it, missionaries need help. A missionary only has so much time in a week to teach lessons to students, and if I know someone who will be willing to teach a few people in a class via SkypeTM or some other online communication program, that could free me up to teach others. This is one simple, yet effective tool. This is just ONE way that you can carry out the Great Commission, that you can have a part in someone’s being saved, whether you are in their country or not. I truly hope that you will consider this approach, and if you are willing, there is a world of people out here who are longing for Bible teachers. Whether you choose this route or not, I pray that you will still do all that you can to carry out the Great Commission and may God bless you as you continue to work in his kingdom.
