Sent on behalf of our Maillard Administration ….. Hello Maillard Parents, The real winter has arrived. It is chilly and the snow is threatening to come in full force. With this in mind we urge you to be extra cautious when driving your child(ren) to school and dropping them off. The roads can be challenging to navigate and become quite dangerous with the typical morning traffic around Maillard. Please consider leaving your house slightly earlier to get here before the rush and/or dropping your child off up Rochester Avenue to avoid the congestion of the morning drop off. Winter sports season is in full swing! We have various Basketball team playing every Tuesday and Wednesday. Our Wrestling team has competed twice doing quite well. The Ski and Snowboard club has had two evenings of snow fun with two more to go. Lots of great opportunities for students to be active. Our Leadership students are now providing lunchtime support at Rochester Elementary. They are playing games and having fun with the students during their play time. Leadership students are also working on a campaign to educate Maillard students about the environmental concerns of littering and to be more mindful with their garbage and recyclable materials. Lastly, please look at the information attached to the newsletter regarding the Drama Club happening Tuesday and Thursday afterschool. It is a great opportunity for those students interested in Performing Arts that culminates in a show. Sincerely, Tristan McCutcheon Laurie Sviatko Principal Vice-Principal
