Remote Access to Chingford Foundation School’s Network – CC4 Anywhere

CC4 Anywhere allows users to log into the school’s network and see their usual desktop environment with their Documents, Shared Documents and RM Staff folders. Microsoft Office is available and Staff can also access SIMS.

Be mindful that SIMS and other data on the school’s network are subject to the Data Protection Act 1998. You must not use Remote Access to SIMS from public places or show members of the public any of the data in SIMS. Be cautious when printing out documents from the school system. Do not leave printouts unattended on your printer.

CC4 Anywhere is powered by Citrix XenApp. This means you will need to install a Citrix plug-in to your browser before using the system. Instructions on how to do this follow below. Quick Steps: 1. In Internet Explorer, make https://cc4anywhere.chingford.waltham.sch.uk a Trusted Site 2. Add waltham.sch.uk to the Compatibilty View list 3. Install the Citrix Receiver from https://www.citrix.com/go/receiver.html. Do not add any accounts to it during installation. 4. Go to https://cc4anywhere.chingford.waltham.sch.uk, log in with your Windows credentials and click on the desktop launcher. (There is a link form

the school’s website under Links). 5. To use SIMS, click on Start > All Programs > Sims .net > SIMS Remote Access.

Detailed steps if you do not know how to do the above:

1. Open Internet Explorer 2. Click on Settings then Internet Options 3. In Internet Explorer 9 and above, Settings is found by clicking on the cog, top right.

4. For Internet Explorer 8 click on Tools then Internet Options.

5. Click on Security tab then Sites

6. Make sure https://cc4anywhere.chingford.waltham.sch.uk is entered. Click Add. (N.B. https – not http)

7. Click Close then OK

8. For Internet Explorer 9 and above, you need to add the Remote Access website to the Compatibility View list.

9. Press ALT to show the Tools menu. Click on Compatibility View settings.

10. Add waltham.sch.uk to the list.

How to install the Citrix plug-in 1. Go to https://www.citrix.com/go/receiver.html 2. Download and install the software. 3. Do not add and account, just click Finish 4. Go to the school’s website www.chingfordfoundation.org, click on Links and then Staff - Remote Access. 5. Login to CC4 Anywhere. User your Windows login credentials (For Staff, this is usually just your surname). 6. Do not use your email credentials. 7. With the Citrix plug-in has been installed, you should get straight to the page below after logging in. 8. Click on CC4 Anywhere Desktop – Staff

9. Wait for Citrix to launch. This can be slow for the first user of the day.

10. You should see the school’s desktop in a Window as below.

11. To use SIMS, click on Start > All Programs > Sims .net > SIMS Remote Access.

12. Login to SIMS as usual.

13. SIMS should now open as usual.

The Terminal Servers running remote access restart at 5am every day so don’t work all night.

You should be able to print to your printer at home when using Remote Access. However, if you can’t, support is not available as it depends on your model

of printer.
