Outreach visits are a visit to your property or business to provide information and emotional support to fire affected residents. The outreach visits enable Council to gather information to help identify if additional services are required and whether any issues need to be addressed. Who will be doing the Outreach? The Victorian Council of Churches (VCC) will lead the outreach, supported by the Red Cross. When will the visits occur? The VCC and Red Cross were in the Scotsburn areas from 1 to 4 March 2016. INFRASTRUCTURE UPDATE: Trees: Tree management works are expected to be completed by mid-March. There are only a couple of short fencelines left to cleared of trees. Fallen timber has been removed from the majority of road reserves. Habitat logs are being left and/or placed in appropriate locations. A final inspection by the arborists is underway to ensure all hazardous trees have been identified and dealt with. Roadworks: Roadworks are well underway with gravel sheeting continuing. To date Hopgoods Rd, Rosenows Rd, Sand Rd and Bridge Rd have had gravel placed on them. Roads still to receive attention include Nugent Crt, Lumsden Lane, Courts Rd and Horsehill West Rd. It is anticipated that road works will be completed by the end of March. Signs and guideposts: Damaged signs and guidepost reinstatement/replacement is expected to be completed in March. FREE MOVIE TICKETS The Buninyong Community Bank would like to offer free tickets to residents affected by the Scotsburn fire, for the Cinema Fundraising screening of "Zootopia" at the Regent Multiplex Friday 18 March at 7pm. OUTREACH VISITS THIS WEEK

What are Outreach Visits?

Outreach visits are a visit to your property or business to provide information and emotional support to fire affected residents.

The outreach visits enable Council to gather information to help identify if additional services are required and whether any issues need to be addressed.

Who will be doing the Outreach?

SKIP BIN REMOVAL

Moorabool Shire Council has been providing skip bins around the fire area to assist with clean-up since late December.

As the Grocon clean-up commences, the redundant skip bins will be removed. It is an-ticipated that the skip bins will be removed by 18 March. Please utilise the bins prior to this time.

BLAZEAID SUPPORT FOR

SCOTSBURN

BlazeAid have been one of many

organisations assisting the Scotsburn

community to clean-up and get back on

their feet. The BlazeAid team arrived on

30 December and have been hard at

work since that time.

A snapshot of their efforts:

202 volunteers helped in Scotsburn

adding up to 1,604 volunteer days

of service in the community.

Cleared approx. 94 km of fence line

and fenced 93 km.

55 property owners registered for

assistance.

Work has been completed on 26

properties.

Work has commenced on 50

properties with some waiting on

materials and insurance company

decisions.

4,981 meals cooked in the camps

The BlazeAid team will be in the

Scotsburn area until the end of March.
