Saturday 3 & Sunday 4 March Peter Scullin Reserve • Mordialloc

Electric Fields are two feminine brothers - Zaachariaha Fielding and Michael Ross - combining modern electric-soul music with ancient indigenous culture.

Electric Fields brings together Fielding’s lead vocal that takes soul to the stratosphere and Ross’ true inventiveness as producer. Think Daft Punk meets Deep Forest with the fearlessness of Nina Simone.

Beach Beats is bringing the boogie to Mordi for a late-afternoon session of deep, funky tunes by some of Melbourne’s best local DJs. Get on down and bring your dance to the Jam Café from 3.30pm on Saturday. Featuring performances by Deltoid Curve, JCOS, Timothy Weston and Sundelin.

While there’s plenty on for the adults at Mordi Fest this year, we definitely haven’t forgotten about the kids!

Twinkles Face Painting and Balloon Twisting will be on-site creating a world of magic for the little ones, and for those wanting to get crafty, Kites 4 Kids are holding kite making workshops all weekend long. From 1-5pm.

YolanDa Brown (UK)Double MOBO Award Winning saxophonist YolanDa Brown is widely regarded as the premier female saxophonists in the UK. After a hugely successful week at Bird’s Basement in Melbourne in 2017, she makes her eagerly anticipated Australian debut on her Love Politics War Tour, celebrating 10 years in music.

Geoff AchisOn and the SouldIggerSGeoff Achison is an award winning blues-roots artist known for his energetic live performances and unique guitar mastery. Geoff’s music has been compared favourably to major artists such as Eric Clapton, JJ Cale and the Allman Brothers Band, with a solid foundation in the blues but also embracing a variety of music styles.

Hat Fitz & CaraHat Fitz & Cara’s musical style is a unique combination of folk, roots and gospel blues with old time flavourings reminiscent of a time once forgotten. Together this pair will take you on a musical journey with ample, boisterous highs, and longing, bluesy lows.

SebasTian KeighLeySebastian Keighley is an 18-year-old guitarist/vocalist/singer-songwriter. He was born in Hobart, Tasmania and now resides in Melbourne, Victoria, where he plays regular gigs in Melbourne’s south eastern suburbs. Sebastian’s musical genre is contemporary/pop-indie with influences from the likes of Bob Dylan, Ed Sheeran and Vance Joy.

FourPlayFourPlay is an indie rock band that just happen to be a string quartet. They began their professional lives entering a UNSW Band Competition, then surprised themselves by winning. Their trajectory from there was fast and decisive – the band rapidly being booked for major festivals while selling out club gigs across Australia.

The EskieS (IRE)The Eskies are purveyors of music that meanders from sea soaked waltz to Italian tarantella, from Brassy funeral march-esque lament to weep along Klezmar knees up, from chain gang holler to rag time finger snap. Skipping through the dark side of anything that makes you want to dance, steeped in melodrama and usually with not a small amount of tongue in cheek.

Jeff LangAustralian guitarist-songwriter-vocalist-producer Jeff Lang has built a reputation for making startling music that is accomplished, intricate, gutsy, melodic and loaded with soul. Often taking unexpected turns, he has consistently inspired his audiences by creating a stylistically diverse catalog of over 25 albums.
