New this year - Chromebooks at STM! Making technology a priority, STM has integrated Chromebooks into the sixth grade. Each student has an assigned Chromebook for their use during the school day. With fundraising efforts STM will be able in the future to provide more grades with one-to-one Chromebooks. Our future goal is to have every student one-to-one with a device. Using Chromebooks and Google Classroom will make learning more efficient and there are many free educational apps to enhance the curriculum. From the Principal’s Desk: Dear STM families, Fall is in the air! Not only is the weather changing, but we have fall activities coming up. This Friday, October 13th, is our annual school Walk-a-Thon. The following week on Sunday, October 22nd, is Trunk- or-Treat from 3 – 5:30 PM. Come out and join us for some fun games and activities! Fall Fest (Turkey Raffle) is soon behind on November 11th. Be sure you are dropping off your raffle tickets so you can be included in the early bird drawings! This upcoming week at school on Friday, October 20th, we are having a Dress Down Day for a dollar or more donation for the victims of Hurricane Maria and the Mexico earthquakes. We pray as a school for the victims of all the hurricanes, earthquakes, and Las Vegas every morning together. Thank you for helping support such a worthy cause. We are coming soon upon the end of first quarter. The quarter ends on Tuesday, October 24th. Next week we will be sending home a sheet for you to fill out for Parent-Teacher conference appointments. Except for one year when she taught 4th grade, she has always been the 8th grade teacher. Mrs. Craig was born in Kansas City, MO, but has lived all over the U.S. throughout her life. 32 years ago, she and her family settled in the Elgin area and haven’t left since. Mrs. Craig has 3 grown children. She also has a passion for history, art, and teaching. Mrs. Craig does many things at STM with one of them being the moderator of Student Council. Highlighting STM Faculty: Mrs. Craig

Sunday, Nov. 5, 1 – 3 p.m.

Elgin, IL – October 16, 2017 – St. Edward Central Catholic High School, 335 Locust Street, Elgin, Ill., will

hold an open house for prospective students and their parents on Sunday, Nov. 5, from 1 – 3 p.m.

St. Edward Central Catholic is Elgin-area’s premier college preparatory Catholic high school, serving seven

Rockford Diocese Deanery Elementary Schools, and welcoming students from 29 other schools spanning 24

cities and towns across the northwest suburbs.

Students will lead tours, teachers will host informal informational sessions, and counselors and administrators

will be on hand to answer questions.

Founded in 1941, St. Edward Central Catholic offers 32 AP and Honors courses, boasts a 13-to-1 student-to-
