Mother Lode Chapter ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET

On May 7, 2016 a lovely Saturday evening, our chapter’s Annual Awards Banquet successfully took place at the Dante Club in Sacramento. We came together to celebrate our dedicated environmental heroes, while also paying tribute to our departing Chapter Director. Terry Davis retired after a 16 year laudable career with our chapter and we sent him off with a graceful roast, led by our own Barbara Williams. Through the years Terry made many allies that are now lifetime friends here are a few of the people that roasted Terry. John Moore walked us through a few forest stories.

While our time-keeper, Marilyn Jasper, made sure she kept it short and sweet, yet always on time.

Jude Lamare reminisced about how resourceful Terry was to her and the cause.

Meanwhile, Dale Stocking told us how one day he was hiking and the next he was our chapter and state Treasurer.

Rick Ramos spoke to Terry’s ability to negotiate and keep and bring people at the table.

The Water Forum people, Leo Winternitz and Tom Gohring also made sure we heard their memories of working with Terry and the nice way he lets you know you are wrong. Similarly, Chuck Knutson read us his letter telling us how much he respects Terry’s work ethic and ingenuity to

fight for the environment. Eric Peach acceded to all of Terry’s laudable qualities and performed an uncanny imitation of how you knew that you were about to get schooled by Terry.

Barbara teased those that went over their time and after conceding to all the loving remarks she ended with a heartfelt farewell and thank you to Terry for his work and investment in all our community leaders and for being a true champion for the environment. Lastly, the mic was surrendered to Terry for his rebuttal.
