OCTOBER BIRTHSTONE OPAL

The mineraloid opal is amorphous SiO2·nH2O, hydrated silicon dioxide, the

water content sometimes being as high as 20% but is usually between three and ten percent. Opal ranges from clear through white, gray, red,

yellow, green, shore, blue, magenta, brown, and black. Of these hues, red and black are the most rare and dear, whereas white and green are the most common; these are a function of growth size into the red and infrared wavelengths—see precious opal.

Common opal is truly amorphous, but precious opal does have a structural element. Opal is a mineraloid gel which is deposited at relatively low temperature and may occur in the fissures of almost any kind of rock, being most commonly found with limonite, sandstone, rhyolite, and basalt. Opal is one of the mineraloids that can form or replace fossils. The resulting fossils, though not of any extra scientific interest, appeal to collectors.

Sultan Minerals trenches 4.5 feet of 9.7% Pb at Jersey

2007-09-24 08:57 ET - News Release

Mr. Arthur Troup reports

SULTAN MINERALS DISCOVERS HIGH-GRADE EXTENSION TO ITS JERSEY-EMERALD LEAD-ZINC DEPOSIT IN BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA

Sultan Minerals Inc. has provided the results of a trenching program carried out above the

East Emerald tungsten zone on its Jersey Emerald property in southeastern British Columbia. This recent trenching discovered a western extension of the historic Jersey lead-zinc mine exposing a stratiform band of lead-zinc-silver mineralization that has now been traced along strike for over 1,200 feet (400 metres). The occurrence is located approximately 200 feet (60

metres) west of the historic G zone which was the northernmost workings in the Jersey lead-zinc mine. This discovery confirms that important mineralization may extend well beyond the limits of the historic lead-zinc mining operation.

Arthur G. Troup, president and chief executive officer, said: "The significance of this new discovery is yet to be determined. The historic Jersey lead-zinc mine was British Columbia's

second largest lead-zinc producer. The trenching program is continuing in order to determine the location and trend of the mineralization in advance of a core drilling program. The attitude of the mineralization discovered to date suggests that a considerable portion of this area of the deposit might be extracted by surface mining methods."

Trenching and diamond drilling are currently continuing on the property, and 44 holes have now been completed in the company's planned 2007 drill program. The planned 10,000-metre drill program is designed to explore the recently discovered molybdenum deposit as well as expand the historic tungsten and lead-zinc mineralization.

Mountain Boy drills 6.1 m of 275 g/t Ag on BA claims

2007-10-02 11:26 ET - News Release

Mr. Ed Kruchkowski reports

DRILLING CONTINUES TO INDICATE HIGH GRADE SILVER IN THE MASSIVE SULPHIDE HORIZON ON THE BA CLAIMS

Mountain Boy Minerals Ltd. has received its assays for the first 10 holes for the 2007 drilling

exploration program on the 100-per-cent-owned BA claims. To date, a total of 25 holes have been completed. The BA claims are located 30 kilometres east of Stewart in the Skeena mining division approximately three kilometres south of paved Highway 37A.

Highlights of drilling include 6.1 metres of 276.65 grams per tonne silver, 1.98 per cent lead and 3.77 per cent zinc in DDH-2007-BA-2; 12.20 metres of 145.3 g/t silver, 3.13 per cent lead

and 2.30 per cent zinc; and 37.20 metres of 140.7 g/t silver, 2.63 per cent lead and 2.89 per cent zinc in DDH-2007-BA-5; 26.98 metres of 99.03 g/t silver, 1.16 per cent lead and 3.72 per cent zinc in DDH-2007-BA-9; and 15.24 metres of 52.91 g/t silver, 1.01 per cent lead and 5.73 per cent zinc in DDH-BA-2007-10.

The first drill completed 19 holes in a grid pattern measuring 15 by 15 metres in order to

provide close-spaced data on the west limb of the mineralization along an anticline. This drill has been moved 150 metres northeast to test the east limb of this same anticline.

A second rig located several hundred metres south of the above initial drilling has been coring low-angle holes in order to test for the zone beneath a steep mountain. This drilling has been successful in extending mineralization into an area with no exposure. http://www.mountainboyminerals.ca/2007nr/20071002_nw.pdf

Serengeti drills 159 m of 55% Cu, 0.44 g/t Au

2007-10-02 10:48 ET - News Release

Mr. David Moore reports

SERENGETI CONTINUES TO INTERSECT GOOD GRADE AT KWANIKA INCLUDING 159 METERS

OF 0.55% COPPER, 0.44 G/T GOLD

Serengeti Resources Inc. has released assays from the next batch of holes from its 100-per-cent-owned

Kwanika porphyry copper-gold property, where a major follow-up drill program is under way. Kwanika is

located in the prolific Quesnel trough of north-central British Columbia.

"We continue to encounter excellent grades near surface in these recent holes, particularly in gold," stated

Serengeti president and chief executive officer, David Moore. "These holes demonstrate that the system

remains open for expansion to the east and there is also growing evidence for an extensive zone of more

moderate grade mineralization at depth. Drilling continues with two drills turning on a 24-hour basis in a

program that should be delivering results out through the end of the year," stated Mr. Moore.

J-Pacific drills 1.75 m of 5.73 g/t Au at Blackdome

2007-10-09 14:34 ET - News Release

Mr. Victor Webb reports

J-PACIFIC INTERSECTS 5.73G AU/T OVER 1.75 METRES ON THE BLACKDOME NO. 17 VEIN

J-Pacific Gold Inc. has intersected 5.73 grams per tonne gold over 1.75 metres at its Blackdome gold mine, located in the Clinton mining district of British Columbia, approximately 250 kilometres north of Vancouver.

In making the announcement today, John Harrop, J-Pacific's senior geologist, said: "The primary objectives of the 2006 and 2007 Blackdome drill programs were to test several

targets generated from past work -- to gain a better understanding of mineralized structures under the Blackdome peak; to extend the principal producing veins northward along strike toward the dome; and to test the intersection of the No. 1 and No. 2 veins at depth." The 2007 phase 2 program was an aggressive plan primarily designed to drill test an area under

the Blackdome peak, which received only minor attention during the life of the mine. The still wide spacing of the drill holes along strike clarifies the trace of a mineralized structure. "The

assay results point to the potential for ore-grade zones within the No. 17 vein structure, which is now known to extend through the dome -- much farther than previously realized,"

said Mr. Harrop. "This also increases interest in parallel features such as the Giant and Redbird veins, which will receive more attention in the future." http://jpgold.com/investor_information/news_releases/2007/index.php?mod=cnt&act=cnt&id=176

Thursday, October 04, 2007 Final Report Release: Halogens in Surface Exploration

Geochemistry: Evaluation and Development of Methods for Detecting Buried Mineral Deposits

Geoscience BC is pleased to announce the release

of Geoscience BC Report 2007-10 "Halogens in Surface Exploration Geochemistry: Evaluation and Development of Methods for Detecting Buried Mineral Deposits" by Colin Dunn, Stephen Cook and Gwendy Hall. The full report and executive summary are available here.

Much of the bedrock in central British Columbia has a cover of Quaternary deposits and/or volcanic rocks. Given the fact that the area is underlain by the generally 'fertile' Quesnellia

Terrane, there is good reason to be optimistic that significant buried mineralization may be present. The challenge is, therefore, to develop a method for detecting mineralization hidden beneath this cover. Geoscience BC Report 2007-10 is aimed at enhancing the discovery of concealed mineral deposits using the halogen elements, focusing on soil and common

vegetation from three target areas: Mount Polley (Imperial Metals Corp); QR (Cross Lake Minerals Ltd.); and 3Ts (Silver Quest Resources Ltd.).

The halogen elements (Fluorine, Chlorine, Bromine, Iodine) are commonly associated with the emplacement of mineral deposits. They are contained within the structure of many minerals and in saline fluid inclusions that are typical of a wide range of mineral deposits. Their volatility renders them good candidates to examine as 'pathfinder elements' in surface

geochemical media, where they may be captured on soil particles and taken up by vegetation. Other studies have demonstrated the exceptional migrational abilities of Iodine and Bromine in different geological settings, and found these elements to be highly effective in exploring for ore bodies at depths of up to 1000 m. http://www.geosciencebc.com/s/Home.asp

CONSOLIDATED SPIRE VENTURES LTD. October 9, 2007 No: 07-28 TSX-V SYMBOL: CZS

DRILLING INTERSECTS 64 METRES OF QUARTZ STOCKWORK MINERALIZATION IN THE DISCOVERY SOUTH ZONE - PROSPECT VALLEY PROPERTY

Consolidated Spire Ventures Ltd. (“Spire”) is pleased to announce that the first hole in a series of diamond drill holes, DDH-2007-01, has now been completed at the Prospect Valley Property, Merritt, BC, Canada. Diamond drilling has intersected a 64m wide quartz

mineralized zone. The mineralized zone is silicified with stringers and veinlets of quartz and fine grained disseminated pyrite. This drill hole

is currently being logged and sampled. Analytical results will be reported once received. Drill hole DDH-2007-02 is underway.

The drilling of hole DDH-2007-01 was drilled approximately 85m NW from last year’s drill hole DDH-2006-21 which intersected a very similar quartz veinlet stockwork zone that returned

50.6m of 1.36g/t gold, including 24.4m of 2.03g/t gold.

The initial drill program in the Discovery South Zone has targeted a wide mineralized gold zone that was discovered and outlined by trenching. The Company is very excited about drilling into

these new untested areas where it is believed most of the mineralization is hosted.

Drill Core samples will be prepped and analyzed at the Eco Tech Laboratory in Kamloops, B.C., Canada. Eco Tech Laboratory is an ISO 9001 certified and accredited facility. All work is being

conducted following the procedures and standards outlined under NI 43-101. All sample batches sent to the lab include standards, blanks and duplicate samples.

St. Eugene Mining Corp

2007-10-09 10:47 ET - News Release

Mr. Roland Trenaman reports

ST. EUGENE ARRANGES NON-BROKERED $189,300 PRIVATE PLACEMENT - ADDITIONAL DRILLING PLANNED AT MOYIE ZINC/SILVER/LEAD PROJECT

St. Eugene Mining Corp. intends to complete a non-brokered private placement of up to

1,578,000 units at a price of 12 cents per unit to raise total gross proceeds of up to $189,300. Each unit will consist of one flow-through common share of the company and one-half of one non-transferable common share purchase warrant. Each full warrant will be exercisable to acquire one non-flow-through common share for a period of one year from closing at an exercise price of 15 cents per share.

The company will pay a finder's fee equal to 7.5 per cent of the gross proceeds of the offering attributable to that finder, payable by the issuance of common shares at a value of 12 cents per share. In addition, the company will issue to the finder that number of non-transferable common share purchase warrants equal to 10 per cent of the units sold that are attributable

to that finder. Each finder warrant is exercisable to acquire one share for a period of one year from closing at an exercise price of 15 cents per share.

All securities issued in connection with the offering will be subject to a four-month hold period from the closing of the offering.

The gross proceeds from the flow-through financing will be used to drill a further approximately 1,000 metres in four holes at the company's Moyie zinc/silver/lead project, 20

kilometres south of Cranbrook, B.C. Information from these holes will allow to the company to make a decision on underground development, the next logical step in defining the magnitude of the zinc/lead/silver mineralized zones identified in two earlier drill campaigns on company's Society Girl target.

The Moyie project is located in a historic metal mining district which stretches from Idaho's Coeur d'Alene silver/lead mining camp to British Columbia's 150-million-ton Sullivan zinc/silver/lead mine. Zinc/silver/lead ores have been continuously produced from this area for more than 110 years. From 1900 to 1911, the St. Eugene mines reportedly produced

approximately 1.4 million tons of ore grading 5 per cent zinc, 15 per cent lead and seven ounces per ton silver from three main ore shoots -- Lakeshore, Moyie and St. Eugene. http://www.steugenemining.ca/StEugene/NewsReleases/Oct09_07.pdf

Cream Minerals Ltd

Mr. Frank Lang reports

TRENCHING LOCATES BROAD ZONES OF QUARTZ VEINING GOLDSMITH PROPERTY, BC

Cream Minerals Ltd. has started an excavator trenching program on its Goldsmith property,

located near Kaslo in southeastern British Columbia. The Goldsmith property contains numerous historic (circa 1903), small, high-grade workings (Lucky Jack, Bullock, Swede, Goldsmith, Gold Park and others) throughout a three-kilometre-long belt of altered volcanic and sedimentary host rocks. High-grade gold mineralization in the workings is found in

numerous quartz veins that range up to five metres in width. Also of interest on the Goldsmith property are reported historic gold values obtained from the altered wall rock between and adjacent to the quartz veins. Historic geologic and promotional reports from the early 1900s expound on the amount and size of free gold within these vein networks.

To date, Cream has obtained extremely encouraging results from rock grab and chip samples collected from the numerous small-scale historic workings. See the table attached for some of the spectacular gold assay values from sampling by Cream in 2003 to 2006 (previously reported). These sample results confirm the historic reports of very high-grade gold

mineralization. http://www.creamminerals.com/s/NewsReleases.asp?ReportID=265098&_Type=News-Releases&_Title=Trenching-Locates-Broad-Zones-Of-Quartz-Veining-Goldsmith-Property-BC
