Malawi has one of the highest levels of preventable blindness. Over 160,000 people have low vision due to cataracts, and of these, more than 50,000 are blind as a result. Access to life-changing surgery is often simply out of reach both, financially and physically. Access to clean water continues

to be a big challenge for Malawi.

Our programme is aimed to ensuring thousands of people in remote areas have access to clean water and do not have to travel several miles every day for clean water.

1.0 Gift of Sight

Chairmans Foreward

Last year we delivered over 2,000 cataract operations.

The Gift of Sight Cataract operation to restore eyesight and change ones life costs just £30.

Over 2 Million people have no access to clean water.

Over 10 Million people do not have adequate sanitation.

3,000 children die every year from diarrhoea related deaths.

£400 per well or £120 for a water bay.

2.0 Access to Clean Water

It gives me great pleasure to introduce Malawi Relief Fund’s Annual Activity Report , which gives a snapshot of what we have delivered over the past twelve months as well as our future plans.

Malawi is one of the poorest countries and has faced challenging times over the past 15 months with severe floods and drought leaving almost 3 million people facing food shortage.

We have developed a series of programmes to meet these challenges by providing food packs, emergency packs, new homes and sustainability programmes to support small farmers.

This is only possible with your generous support and donations, on behalf of Malawi Relief Fund I wish to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation for placing your trust in MRF to distribute your Zakaat, Sadaqah and Lillah Donations.

We pray the all-mighty accepts your donations and our efforts.

All children are provided with a good quality education to prepare them for Primary School as well as Islamic education.

All children are also provided with one meal every day, which for many, is their only main meal of the day.
