WMU-Cooley Law School Hosts Mentor EventThe Winning Edge Mentor event revolved around professionalism and how to build a positive reputation

The Tampa Bay campus of WMU-Cooley Law School hosted theFlorida Bar’s Henry Latimer Center for Professionalism, the StandingCommittee on Professionalism, the Young Lawyers Division and theYoung Lawyers Division Law Student Division as the organizationspresented the Winning Edge Mentor event.

The panel discussion focused on professionalism, and theimportance of building a positive reputation in the law community.Speakers spoke about first impressions, the concepts of reliability andaccountability, as well as advice on taking ownership of mistakes andlearning from those mistakes.

Panelists included Hon. Edward LaRose of the Second DistrictCourt of Appeals, Attorney Caroline Johnson Levine with the FloridaOffice of the Attorney General, Attorney Michael Colgan from theBradley Arant Boult Cummings, LLP law firm, and Attorney HenryPaul of the Henry Lee Paul, P.A. law firm.

In addition to talking about professionalism in the field of law,Johnson told students that practicing in areas of law that interest themis important to building a practice.

“Do something you are passionate about,” said Johnson. “If youcan find an area of the law you get excited about and want to beinvolved in, it just makes your life so much better.”

Straz Center for the Performing Arts toPresent Whitehorse on December 14

The Straz Center for the Performing Arts presents Whitehorse on Monday, December 14, at 7:30 p.m., as part of theStraz Center’s 2015-2016 Club Jaeb series. Club Jaeb transforms the Straz Center’s Jaeb Theater into an intimate musicspace featuring folk, Americana, alternative, country and other “hand-picked music that matters.”

Whitehorse’s story has been told as two acclaimed musicians joining forces under one new name – no drummer, nokeyboard player, violinist or even bass player on call, and no producer. Just Luke Doucet and Melissa McClelland. Theirfirst album and EP demonstrate the success of this simple equation, one plus one, with an abundance of guitar slinging,songwriting expertise and white-hot desire.

Hyltin joined NYCB in 2002 and was promoted to principal in 2007. The Straz Center will present Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: TheMusical, on December 12 in the Morsani Hall.

In 1964, the beloved stop-motion animated television classic, Rudolph theRed-Nosed Reindeer, made its network television debut delighting audiencesacross the country. Today it was announced the “most famous reindeer of all”from the longest running and highest rated television special will return live onstage with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical.

The world’s most famous reindeer and a holly jolly cast of iconic charactersincluding Hermey the Elf, Yukon Cornelius and the Abominable Snow Monsterwill help Santa save Christmas.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical practically transportsaudience members into the television special as songs drive the plot whilefamiliar and nostalgic set design with projections, costumes and characters arebrought to stage.
