Materials Manager, X-Subsea (Altens, Aberdeen) 2015-Present

Lead and manage all procurement and materials management activities within the company including order placement, supplier reduction/evaluation/certification, inventory control, material handling, logistics, and compliance with customer specifications

Manage the activities of workers engaged in performing, verifying and keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments.

Supervise and coordinate personnel engaged in expediting the flow of material, parts, and assemblies.

Create, maintain and execute material logistic strategies to manage inventory and control excess.

Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for Inventory and Purchasing modules of the organization’s business system.

Train warehouse employees on the care and preservation of products received, stored, and shipped. Responsible for determining the proper methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining and shipping stock.

Accountable for maintaining corporate ISO procedures relating to the Materials Group. This includes training employees and monitoring adherence to the standards.

Responsible for reporting Materials related metrics to the organization.

Coach, lead, and develop team leads and members to ensure organizational goals and objectives are met.

Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.

Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and

directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Must have an ability to solve practical problems with solutions that deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Responsible for maintaining all Materials related master data including Item, Vendor Item, Item Warehouse, Item Resource Planning and Vendor Price Contracts.

Storeman/Purchaser, X-Subsea (Altens, Aberdeen) 2014 – 2015

Receipt of Vendors deliveries, and verification of same against vendor delivery ticket and Company purchase order/ requisition

Procuring material from various suppliers ensuring quality, price and service are right for both parties.

Responsible for the day-to-day running of the stores ensuring all stock is accounted for when required and also with daily cycle counting.

Ensure relevant certification and Health & Safety sheets are received with goods in accordance with purchase order requirements.

Identification of any non-conformities re vendor deliveries, to be notified to appropriate parties in accordance with Material Policies and Procedures.

Maintain goods outward/inward bays for each rig, ensuring that all materials are clearly identifiable and checked.

Load containers/pallets with materials for shipment offshore, including securing materials in accordance with Company / Operator procedures.

Receipt of materials returned from rig, including verification of materials received against cargo manifest checked and tagged for inspection.

Maintain inventory of shore-based equipment, including monthly stock check and cyclic inventories as per Company requirements

Daily liaison with Buyer / Expeditor re materials shipment/ordering in case of urgently required material or delayed material.

Daily liaison with freight forwarders to ensure correct timings of departures and arrivals of all our equipment with correct manifests/invoices.

Warehouse Supervisor, Schlumberger (Dyce, Aberdeen) 2010 - 2014
