Student Life (Being a student)

• Grand theft auto style open world game based in Dublin

• 4 main stats in the game Knowledge / Wealth / Health / Social

• Aim of the game is to max out the knowledge stat and graduate from college while keeping all other stats within certain levels

• Player uses apartment as a base and must go to work, attend

college and have a social life

Knowledge- Do puzzle based mini game to represent

college assignments which increase knowledge.

- Driving element of gameDrive from apartment or work to collegereach college or work within time limit

Wealth - Part time Job to pay for - food, rent, bills, social life- Play work based mini game to earn money

(Fable 2 style pressing certain buttons at specific times to complete task)

- Harder job means better money but higher difficulty of task in mini game

Health - Need food, exercise and sleep to keep health meter up- Buy food costs money- Use gym and do mini games to increase

health (button bash type games for cycling or running on treadmill)

Social - Go to pub and play mini games like

pool, darts to increase social meter- Drinking increases social level but

affects player reaction time in part time job mini games

Dreamworld (Films)

• Cross between two of my favourite films, The Matrix and Inception and my enjoyment of sleeping in at the weekend

• Levels are set inside a world of dreams where rules and reality don't exist and contain characters from films as baddies e.g. alien , predator, terminator

• 3rd Person action game (similar to Enter The Matrix PS2)

• Player trapped in an Inception like dream state

• Aim of the game is to complete levels and beating bosses so you can be brought out of the dream state and awaken

• Levels mixture of fighting, shooting, driving

• Player received points known as bytes (as in bytes of memory) for killing enemies etc

• Bytes can be used to upgrade abilities to download as memories into your dream (matrix style)

• Learn new fighting moves and styles, special moves etc

• Get access to new weapons, more accurate, better fire rate

• Better driving skills, faster cars with better armour

Festival Crazy (music and concerts)

• Point and click adventure game (Monkey Island)

• Player must make it to the main stage at the festival to see the headline act after setting up tent and finding group of friends at the concert and navigating around the festival

• Player can only carry 3 items at once and must use interaction with people and items to complete tasks

• Example - Putting the tent together player must find the missing pieces of their tent scattered around the 2 campsite areas

• Gathering friends - Player must navigate around the campsites trying to find their friends and gather them together before entering the main festival area

• Friends wont go with you without certain items they need like wellies, sun cream etc so you have to find and bring this item to them first

• Obstacles like security guards wont let you into certain areas without specific items like certain coloured wrist band

• Once all tasks completed then you can enter the main area and make it to the main stage to watch the band

Master Chef Game

• Cooking game based on challenges from the Master chef TV show

• Use new Kinect for Xbox 360 to make an interactive game

• Player must create certain recipies within time limit and to certain standard to pass the level

• Player given list of ingredients contained in the recipe and cooking guidelines

• Player presented with image database of ingredients divided into categories of vegetables, meat etc and using gestures and voice commands selects the required ingredients based on their pictures

• If player picks wrong ingredients based on the pictures then they lose points off their total score

• Player must virtually prepare the food for cooking and simulate cooking the food using the Kinect interface

• For example player needs to chop carrots – they use the chop voice command to enable a knife on screen and then use the gesture of chopping to make the knife move on screen and chop the carrots

• Player can use gestures to grab pots and pans and place them on the cooker and to place ingredients inside and set cooking times

• When the recipe is complete points are awarded based on picking the right ingredients and the cooking methods used

• If you pass you move on to a more difficult recipe

Theme Recession (Entrepreneurship)

• Simulation game based on the Theme Park and Theme Hospital series by Bullfrog

• Player must run their own business and try become a millionaire and wipe out the competition during the recession

• Player starts with limited budget to hire staff and source stock as banks wont lend money

• As the player sells products and makes money they can hire more staff or additional stock or expand the business

• As the business grows they get more options to assign new roles to staff to increase productivity in the business or buy better equipment

• Staff have morale indicator • Needs to be maintained to keep productivity levels

high. • Player can give staff rewards or punishments to change

morale but can have adverse effects• If staff aren't happy they can quit their job and the

business will start to fail

• Players business is competing with AI controlled businesses in game

• Must monitor their pricing and use in game strategies to increase amount of customers using your businesse.g. Increase marketing spend

• As your business grows you can expand and open another branch of your business to increase sales

• Game ends when you become a millionaire and retire successful or if you end up going bankrupt and losing your business
