June was a very informative month with several presentations for our members & volunteers at the Naples Senior Center. Attorney Jo-Anne Jeffries with “Elder Law and You”, Collier County Bureau of Emergency Services with “Hurricane Preparedness”, and Seniors vs Crime with “How to Avoid Latest Scams & Frauds”. The Center for Critical Thinking was at it again, stimulating our brains in a social setting, with great discussion on “Climate Change, Beyond the Tipping Point. Now What?” We also had lively entertain-ment, with Dottie Jackson with member sing-along. Thank you for making Naples Senior Center the best destination in Naples!

The members of Needle Works donated beautifully, hand-made lap blankets that were in decorative bags w/tissue to Vitas Innovative Hospice. Thank you ladies for caring and sharing your talents with other. Tai Chi Classes are on Tuesday(s) from 1–2:30pm for intermediate level, and Friday(s) 9:30-10:30am for beginner level. Computer Assistance is available Wednesday(s) 1:30-3pm and Friday(s) 10:30-11:30am. Please sign up in advance in Copilot. Writers’ Workshop – 2:30–4:30pm Thursday(s). Happy Hour Chair Yoga with Instructor Dede – Join us every Tuesday from 3-4pm for stretching, breathing, balance and MORE! Chair Yoga VIDEO – Every Monday from 12:15 – 12:45pm & every Friday from 12 – 12:30pm to keep the stretching, breathing and balance going! No Need to Pack Your Bags - We’re bringing the world to you through Travelogue with Jim Sernovitz. Our summer vacation will continue with Jim as we travel to these incredible destinations: Rocky Mountain Holiday on Wednesday, July 1st from 1:15 to 2:15, Three Faces of China on Wednesday, July 29th from 1:15 to 2:15 and The Baltic Sea on Wednesday, August 26th from 1:15 to 2:15. ART CLASSES July 6th Let's Paint Acrylics I. This will be a fun introduction to the basics of acrylic painting: mixing colors, blending, shading, experimenting with new materials and supplies. July 13th Acrylic Painting, creating volume. Practice using value and contrast with still life subjects. July 20th Painting Florida Landscapes. In this class, you will create paintings that feature your unique scenes, flowers, marshes, wildlife and sunsets. You may work from your own reference photo or choose one in class. July 27th Acrylic Abstraction. Learn to design a dynamic and dramatic work of art. Practice color mixing to add the impact of perspective to your painting.
LIT WITS – ON VACATION Join us for Bridge, Mah Jongg and other card games every Friday afternoon from 1-3:30pm. Beginners to advanced players are welcome. Be sure to sign-up on Copilot in advance. It will help us put together games.
