August 2021

Hi Everyone!

Hope all of you are doing well in this hot, humid

weather. Some people actually like this weather.

Personally, I like the heat of summer but I don't like the

humidity that comes with it. On another subject, the

hydrangea this year is breathtaking and abundant. The

blues are brighter or turned to purple the pinks are half

pink and half lavender. I just got back from Cape Cod

and the Cape is known for their beautiful blue

hydrangea. I saw a pink hydrangea that was a beautiful

bright red Hydrangea is one of my favorite flowers. I

love to bring them in and dry them out for arrangements.

2021 is the "perfect" year for Hydrangea! Enjoy, we

may not see them like this for a long time!

Special thanks to our Oxford High School

friends of the “Make a Difference Club” who mailed out

beautiful handwritten birthday cards to many of our

members. They hoped to lift their spirits and brighten

their days…and they have certainly succeeded at

reaching their goal of truly “making a difference” in the

lives of many senior members!

A Poem by Tony Jaffer:

My Roaring 20’s Family

What great friends they are,

Couldn’t find any better

From both near and afar.

If your car has a problem

They’ll help you, I’m sure,

It just takes a phone call

And you’ll usually have a cure.

If you go through some hard times

As I have this past year,

They’re always there to comfort you

Because they really care.

I’m thankful that I met them

All because of my old car,

They gave my life more meaning

Proving the friends they really are.
